I think the Spanish referee was on the take for the Germany Serbia game. What a terrible job of calling a game. It did really seem like he was favoring the Serbs. Just watched the first minute of the US Slovenia game and Clint Dempsy decked a Slovenian, if this Spanish guy was the ref, he would have been kicked out for sure, but nothing, not even warning!

Late in the game Dempsey stepped on the ball and went face first into the turf.

I think v Marwijk is deliberately doing this to make sure we don't peak too early and run out of steam in the 1/4 finals like a few years ago. Due to goal difference, Japan only needs a draw against Denmark in the last round. Things are looking quite good for Japan now. Denmark showed us that they can't both attack and defend at the same time(at least not very well). Cameroon was very unlucky to only score one goal today. Not only that, but Denmarks super-talent Simon Kjær was booked again, and will miss the last round.

If Japan can keep defending as good as the have done so far, and sneaks in an early goal, I believe the job is done

A loss is a loss but you're right. It could have been a lot worse like a 5-0 devastation. Okazaki's missed goal at the end could have tied the game and he had all the opportunity to change the outcome of the game. That was a perfect example why Japan has no chance in the world cup.

Why would any team want to give these things away! I read that baseball is now thinking of banning them from all stadiums. Wimbledon has already banned them from the grounds.
Last nights New Zealand Italy game was pretty damn loud. I noticed Sepp Blatter was at that game and was trying to see if he was wearing ear plugs or not. Stupid old man!
