Car catches fire in possible arson at mosque in Fukui
FUKUI, Japan, Oct. 21 (AP) - (Kyodo)---A car parked in front of a mosque in Fukui City was found on fire early Wednesday in a possible arson case as a sign saying, "Foreign people GET OUT" was posted at the two-story building...
...On Wednesday, a Malaysian student's station wagon was on fire at around 1:15 a.m. near its engine at the parking lot, but no one was injured, according to the police.
The mosque in the capital of Fukui Prefecture can accommodate up {only} to 80 people...more....

Until I read the part about the Indan restaurant being targeted as well, I assumed it was just the neighbors,as 'mosque' is certainly one of my top three Family Feud answer to who I would not want to have as a neighbor. Pachinko Parlor and garbage incinerator are locks for one and two.

In San-no-hashi Tokyo I used to work near the mosque. Many people working in the neighborhood never noticed there was a mosque it was so low key and only could fit fewer than 100 people.

Oddly back in the States in my whitebread neighborhood, the Islamic Center in my university bought an unused Lutheran church across the the street from my house. People partying on my patio on late Friday afternoons were surprised when I turned down the stereo for the call to prayer---the muslims were almost invisible. I had 100 times more problems living near a fucking Mormon church than a mosque.

I suppose tolerance of crappy religions has to do a lot to do with critical mass. Here in Tokyo (or a university town in Colorado), people attending mosques are so few they are can't be a problem even if they tried.

Mother fuck foreigner...why is everything the fault of gaijin?

Actually, when I saw "Auslander," I thought it was referring to those from Down Under and started quaking in my boots at the thought of being assassinated while in Halloween costume, but then I realized I'm not a 6-year-old girl or Muslim at prayer so the right wingnuts are not gonna pick on me.

You obviously haven't had the drive-by from the sweet potato seller in his van playing classic music AND anime songs simultaneously at 7:30 on a Sunday morning....give me a good machine-gunning anytime.

Is there a 7:30 A.M. on Sunday mornings? Sundays don't start before noon do they?

Noise is not the issue. It is the people milling around the place 5 times a day/ 7 days a week thus preventing me from wearing mankini while I'm gardening. In fact, the entire concept of people milling around my house while practicing sobriety is one of the most downright dpressing concepts imaginable.

BMW drivers... I think there is not a single one in a 100 km radius to whom I didn't flip the bird yet...

Woman are bad too... but always with a bitch style (power haircut, sunglasses... black stockings -maybe-) that make me into my "i'm sure I can make a porn movie aboot this situation" mode... so I'm less in the mood for inapropriate gesturing...

Unbelievable ...
I got a red dot for this comment. Anonymous of course. Great way to show your piety, whoever it was.

Reminds me of fanatical extremists from a certain religious group who take to the streets in a rage when they think someone has made light of their "god." Not a shred of difference if you ask me. Had a good chuckle about it though.

There does seem to have been a rapid proliferation of precious diddums on the site recently...still, cultists always have a tendency to react emotionally when someone touches a nerve about their myth of choice.

So true. And there's an amusing resonance with the original "gaikokujin get out" post that I just can't stop chuckling about. Gee I'm glad I'm not "enlightened." I'll take freedom of thought over that kind of enlightenment any day.

I can't help feeling disgusted by this.

What do these people think?

This should be featured in the press all over the world.

And then using the word "campaign".

At the very least they could call a spade a spade and write "razzia"...
