Screwed Up Eyes wrote:Grammar Nazi alert: There is a redundant use of the indefinite article in this sentence that renders its meaning entirely incorrect. (Hint: It's not the one before "proud.")

I think you're so full of shit your eyes are turning brown. The statement is grammatically sound, as well as the use of both articles, and it's not rendered meaningless.

And a top of the morning to you, too, fine sir. Outstanding summation of my character. I readily admit to being absolutely full of shit and a silly cunt.

Sorry to be a grammar Nazi again, but you're wrong to say "both articles," as you actually only used one in that particular sentence. Perhaps you should have said something like "...as well as the use of the article on both occasions?"

Anyway, maybe you do have "a little credibility" in much the same way as "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

What a hoot: he just doesn't get it. I figured he wouldn't. Too complex for a Mesozoic brain. And as a result, once again, he assumes that everyone but his infallible self is mistaken. Which again brings us back to the Dunning–Kruger effect.

Shit, I can hardly blame him...I don't get it either. At least I'm not too scared to admit it.

Yokohammer wrote:Which again brings us back to the Dunning–Kruger effect.

I do, however, get the Dunning-Kruger...I'm fucking perfect at it. It's the only thing I've ever been perfect at in my life, no matter what anyone else may say.

BigInJapan wrote:I resisted making a retort to McT's response, but as IparryU is requesting an explanation...

Screwed Up Eyes was being facetious (jesting/joking) when he indicated that the comment should read as follows:

- a little credibility = means having some credibility
- little credibility = means having virtually no credibility
This all stems from the fact that he self-published his books, whereas a real author with credibility would have publishers coming to them wanting to publish their books.

I was approached by publishers. This fact renders your retort meaningless, as well as the rest of your ilk's lame comments. That's including the Grammar Nazi's, and the rest of his team of pseudo-psychologist. I didn't deny the sentence wasn't perfect, but sound enough.
