legal Question

Postby NeoNecroNomiCron » Fri Aug 22, 2003 5:12 pm

If there is such a think as a parallel / quantum universe does that mean that I have bought legal licences of all software so I am free to download anything I want from emule with out consequence?

Since I own the licence already in a parallel universe. I am just collecting the backups in this universe?
Am I still not allowed to have a sig?

Since you're a registered ALIEN, your reasoning sounds logical.

take it a step farther, and say that an alternate self in a parallel universe was already arrested for piracy, thus being punished twice for the same crime may be applicable in this case AFAIK. Whereas legally, you can only be tried once for a crime.
:D And I am no bengoshi.

Yeah, but as long as you're still infringing, they can come after you in civil court for damages. On a side note, currently, only the US has criminal penalties for violating the DMCA although the EU is thinking about adopting similar provisions.

My idea theory is that in an alternate universe, I'm Bill Gates. And in this universe, Bill Gates ownz joou all!

Some interesting replies. I have to mull it over more, but in the meantime I have to backup more files from emule and kazza.

Too many fakes in kazza though I wonder in a parallel universe fakes are the real things.

What the fuck does madonna think she is doing?

I bet Parallel Madonna releases a promo CD single "What the fuck do you wanna do me?" that pays the downloaders money for helping to distribute song. The downloader who collects the most promo royalities gets to do Madona.

People who try to download tracks off of the new Madonna album from peer-to-peer networks will likely get an MP3 full of silence, prefixed by this short personal "What the fuck are you doing" message from Madonna (150Kb MP3).

Of course, in Bizarro world, fakes are real, and the real things are fakes.
