American wanting to study kickboxing in Japan

Postby freebeer187 » Wed Feb 09, 2011 5:48 am

Hi,

I am an American student who is in college. I have been to Japan before and I do speak very very little Japanese. I know random words and a few phrases, a couple kanji and I can read and write hiragana and katakana.

Anyway, this summer I am planning on going overseas to learn continue training Muay Thai. Of course, Thailand is the place to be for Muay Thai, but I am really scared to go there. I do not speak the language, nothing about the culture, and I hear there are mosquitos that if you get bit you will be sick in a bed for 7 days. Fuck that.

I would like to train in Osaka. I have the money to get there and pay for everything, but I cannot seem to find a gym that accomidate living. I am planning on staying for one month (maby a little less or more depending on the situation). This would be in the summer probably in the begining of June.

Does anyone have any idea on what I can do to live in Japan for a month? Also, does anyone know a gym that they can lead me to? Ive tried to contact www.muaythai.jp twice via email. Both times they have not responded.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

They probably don't speak English. Hence no reply!

If you're after the full Mr Miyage treatment this won't be any good to you. But I have a spanish friend who runs his own gym/dojo in Aichi-ken. Middle of nowhere and im sure he could do an intensive training program. But not Osaka, and hes not Japanese.

Don't come to Japan to learn muay thai. If you're afraid of Thailand (fucking pussy by the way), go to Holland. If you're a big guy Holland would probably be a better place to train that Thailand anyway.

By the way, a lot of people in Thailand speak English, there are plenty of gyms geared towards training foreigners with English language instruction, and you only have to worry about malaria if you go deep in the the jungles in VERY out of the way places. It's also much, much cheaper.

Doctor: I can recommend San Francisco! I think they invented Kung-Po chicken there, so that's pretty good. No mosquitoes but lots of fags. If you get bitten by one you will get HIV. Fuck that!

this thread topic should be called "travel for pussies"

jesus, going to new foreign countries is the best. its after you've married into them and realize all the things that get beaten to death around here.

if youre able to kick and be kicked in the head, visiting thailand should be like your morning rice ;-)

We like our mosquito-borne parasites around these parts, so once you start bad mouthing them, you know how we are going to respond. If it ain't Plasmodium falciparum, don't even start crying about it.

Freebeer187 or should I call you fleeingqueer187, you are in fact a big pussy. Thailand is awesome you dumbass and way cheaper than Japan. You could learn Muay Thai for a few months AND get a sex change (you know, where they give you a dick because you obviously don't have one) and still leave with money left over.

BULL, I am afraid I am going to have to caution you on your above statement. It is a violation of the rules of this board to advertise and your peddling of sex changes in Thailand is clearly pushing the envelope. It should further be noted that your advertisement for sewing on a dick is both misleading and not accurate. You neglected to reflect in that statement that following their tacking on his new johnson, he would also require at cost, the installation of a set of balls which he also appears to be lacking as well.
