errr, no.

Wisdom comes from gaining information and seeing the effects of its use. You learn just as much from your mistakes/trangressions as you do from your successes/good deeds.

I wonder what the learning curve is for building a house out of cardboard?

I guess its about the same as learning to say "would you like fries with that?"

I hate people making relationships between age and wisdom. People make stupid mistake all their lives. Just becasue you are old you automaticaly get a gold star for wisdom after you pass 40.

I sincearly belive the older you get the more you fall for propaganda. Thats why fucked up governments all over the world control everything for their peers. Thinking nothing of the next generation. Old people nowerdays are just plain selfcentered.

Sorry for ranting I am sick today. Ranting is not clever or wise I will stop.

The topic of this Thread is Age and Wisdom everybody quantified their age but nobody quantified their wisdom. Does quantifing you wisdom create a paradox as nobody knows much about anything we just just plod along meaninglesly. Why am I the youngest in this tread but I try and see the bigger picture.

Joseph W. Meeker sums it up in a profound paragraph from his article "Wisdom and Wilderness":

Wisdom is a state of the human mind characterized by profound understanding and deep insight. It is often, but not necessarily, accompanied by extensive formal knowledge. Unschooled people can acquire wisdom, and wise people can be found among carpenters, fishermen, or housewives. Wherever it exists, wisdom shows itself as a perception of the relativity and relationships among things. It is an awareness of wholeness that does not lose sight of particularity or concreteness, or of the intricacies of interrelationships. It is where left and right brain come together in a union of logic and poetry and sensation, and where self-awareness is no longer at odds with awareness of the otherness of the world. Wisdom cannot be confined to a specialized field, nor is it an academic discipline; it is the consciousness of wholeness and integrity that transcends both. Wisdom is complexity understood and relationships accepted.

As it happens and I have mentioned on other posts I am Dyslexic. the truth is i dont care anymore about spelling or gramitical mistakes. Writing is an abstrack form of comunication. Limited alphabets based on sounds are over symplified drivel. There is no word for Dyslexics in Japanese and particulary chinese as they use idograms (pictorial language) most Dyslexics process visualy . Dyslexia is not a learning disability it is just a different perspective in life. Why should I confrom to your rules when you havn't live one day in mine.

BTW I have quite a High IQ I excell at Abstract Reasoning, Mechnical Reasoning, Maths and Spatial Awareness. As a Dyslexic socity puts you through stupid tests like IQ and Direct Aptitude Tests to see where you fit in. I refuse to fit in! Socity is a gimik to fool all you sheeple (I made this up Sheep pleople  ) I Direct Aptitude tests on the topics i stated above I gained 99 percentile of the general population I am not saying this to boast just to show spelling bares no Relevance to intelligence or wisdom same with age. I have a Masters Degree. And universitys are making more provisions for Dyslexics as ..... (i will finish later just got a bit of heart burn)

Ah, but your reader doesn't know that, so unless you restrict yourself to oral communication or preface each work with a bi-line about your disability, they will tire from stumbling over your mistakes.

Communication is about expressing ideas for others to digest, and those readers rightfully expect quality in what they read.

Is it really that difficult to run your posts through a spell checker before posting?

Wow. You have the copyright of "Sheeple". You were a child prodigy!

What a real ....

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 28, 2003 5:51 pm

:D

I think it is a shame that NeoNecroNomiCron seem to love to fight with everyone on this site. The topic was age and wisdom. No one said they go together. It was just a topic line.

What I find funny about NeoNecroNomiCron, is that she writes up anything negative on this board just so she can have her voice. I have been viewing this site for a bit..and this NeoNecroNomiCron just wants to fight with everyone.

Maybe its just me, but fighting about the topic Age and Wisdom just tells me just a little bit more about her....

And, if you notice her threads....all fighting with anyone who will respond to her....

Unless I am wrong, this site is for conversation. Not for the right to be annoying to everyone.

If I am wrong, let me know.

What I find troubling about young people such as NeoNecroNomiCron and <name-deleted> is that they get angry when people point out their mistakes. We get the long string of excuses: "this is a stream of consciousness", "this is a chat board, not a place where I care what you think", "I am dyslexic, so I don't have to follow common rules of grammar and spelling". I would think a little bit of embarrassment would serve them better in the long run; at the least, it should provide some motivation to try harder.

I agree. All those excuses are just crutches for laziness. NeoNecro: you like to talk about your IQ. If you were really smart, you would have been able to figure out how to make your posts more readable despite your dyslexia (i.e., by using a spellchecker). And you also would be smart enough to avoid antagonizing every member of this board.

Age And Wisdom....

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 28, 2003 6:55 pm

:?

Age and Wisdom do not walk hand in hand. That is true. However, to nit pick over error in grammar (grammer) gram crackers ....ahhhhh...well it is just a big waste of time NeoNecroNomiCron.

You see, when NeoNecroNomiCron wants to feel good about herself...she looks for spelling errors.

I guess that is what NeoNecroNomiCron needs to feel that life is okay.

kamome, please be kind.

Really. Back to the point here...Age and Wisdom.

What was the question? There is so much ignorance on this topic due to the lack of wisdom that I lost track of the question!

mmmmmm...what was it...... Oh yes...how old are people who frequent this site?

That was it. Peace out! Feel the groove. Okay. Now were on track..... :D

[quote=""AlcazarGomiGirl I could tell roughly how old you were before when you mentioned what TV shows you watched as a kid in Australia-'The Goodies', oh please that was on when I was in junior primary school. I watched it, didn't really understand it, but I liked it. Just like 'Doctor Who' back then on the ABC. ANCIENT!! :D :D

That's a bit rough, I am 37, older than GG, and I also watched the same shows in primary school, First runs admittedly but I also watched ALL the re runs too :!:

Age and wisdom SHOULD go hand in hand if you are open to learning.

But there are still 45 year old floozies still chasing the dream of being a rock and roll honey.

That time has long passed them, yet......they continue on that broken dream.

There are 50 year old salarymen chasing schoolgirls......

This world needs help...anyway....to lighter subjects.

As for GomiGirl......she's a cutie pie. I'll vouch for that. I saw her pic I did.

No no no! I didn't mean that I thought GG was ancient, I was refering to the TV shows like Dr Who and the Goodies. I thought of them and they just seem so old today. I just hadn't thought of them for many years and I remember how they were really basic compared to today's high budget programs. Unfortunate choice of words on my part there!

I got into trouble last time I said this, but really, What the fuck are you on about?

NNNC is the nitpickee not the nitpicker in this instance. If he (where did the "she" "her"... come from?, still recovering from your "Dickie" tormentor?) takes an abusive stance then he's open to a bit of stick himself. He may have overreacted to this stick, but hey, if he's dyslexic then I can see why it'd be a sore point.

This "nitpicking" started when I pointed out the oddity of posting "insite full" (sic) thoughts without bothering to use proper grammar or spelling. If I was having that kind of trouble with the basic mechanics, I would master them before attempting the difficult task of posting complex thoughts.
