Teachers urge better sex education for boys (Yomiuri / Sept 03)
Boys make up two-thirds of callers to the Japan Family Planning Association clinic in Tokyo, which offers counseling to adolescents on sex-related issues.
A clinic staff member said a middle school student from the metropolitan area once called the clinic saying that he felt his body was abnormal.
"I'm ashamed of my body, and girls don't like it. I want to have an operation," he reportedly said.
Most callers were worried about their genital organs, thinking they needed an operation after reading a male magazine advertisement recommending circumcision...
