Gum wrote:I am wondering if any FGs here have ink on any part of their body (but in particular the arms). I am just wondering besides wearing dress shirts and long sleeves how you deal with this in the long term...
I have some myself (as you can see on the pic) and besides going to school and doing simple things for a short time over in J land it was not that great of an issue as I out of respect and common sense I kept my arms well covered. (With the exception of wearing long sleeve v-neck type shirts to areas where it did not seem much of an issue due to the amount of gaijin shoppers like Harajuku).
Any FG(s) willing to shed some light on this (if any) that has been there for a while with a job, etc. Has having ink taken a toll on you in the long run? Any strange odd exp. you are willing to share?

i know this echoes a previous thread, but does this mean a good number of public facilities have anti tattoo policies? trains, libraries, community centers, squash clubs, outdoor tennis courts?
IparryU wrote:IMO a public location should not ban tattoos if they still allow smoking.
Samurai_Jerk wrote:I'm not a big fan of tattoos and I understand why some businesses won't hire people with tattoos that can't be easily covered.
Samurai_Jerk wrote:However, I have a big problem with any sort of public facility banning people from using it because they are tattooed. Tattoos are not illegal and don't harm anyone around them. The worst thing a another person's tattoo can do is make an uptight asshole feel a bit uneasy. That kind of person feels uneasy about a whole lot of other shit too though.
Samurai_Jerk wrote:They also banned smoking. Another bullshit move.
chokonen888 wrote:Ehhh, I'm with them on this...fucking hate getting cropdusted by walking smokers or just plain showered by smoke when the people next to you light up.

chokonen888 wrote:So yes, banning them at public facility? Overly sensation, grumpy, old people with outdated views on society and too much time on their hands have officially taken over this country...
Samurai_Jerk wrote:Then you end up with a bullshit situation like most of the US where you can't have a cold beer on a hot day at just about every public park or beach. How fucking horrible is it having a BBQ at the park without a beer or going to a 4th of July celebration and drinking soft drinks all day?
IparryU wrote:yes, this is complete bullshit... but from my experience with my family 4th of July parties at public parks, the police will stop by to check your cooler (if you are Mexican or black) to check how much supply you have. As long as you are not acting belligerent they will just say to keep your cool and have a good evening. It also helps having little children about so it looks like a family orientation rather than a whole bunch of wet backs having a fiesta...
Yes... Mexicans + alcohol = trouble in the making... but if whitey sitting at the next bench has a table full of buds they cant say that much... good times...

The fact is there is no established link between second-hand smoke and cancer. The only reason everyone gets behind the bans is they don't like the way smoke smells and various government agencies have lied about the results of studies that time and again DON'T support their theory.
