also gives good hea......post-earthquake info...and that's beyond punk rock to put the earthquake news in the "weather" section.

Nice sarcasm Taro, but I have to call BS as I know you wouldn't check NHK for anything, with the possible exception of the price of pussy should they offer that on stock quotes....

Just got a bit of a shaky shake... Alarm system went on, 10 second after shit got (moderately) real, said to be centered in shizuoka...

That P wave detection technology works quite good... wish I had the same radio system build into the car...

Unfortunately the keitai system went off 20 seconds after the quake hit...useless piece of Namazu sh*t...was a nice long rolling, waving quake to remind us that the danger is not really over...

*edit* Kanto epicenter....am I supposed to read into this with 2 major quakes in three days?

The IPhone/Ipad apps went online at the same time as the Radio emergency broadcast system. The night might be long... (shindo 5, yahoo japan: 6.1 in Shizuoka, 2 only in Toyohashi, I SOOOOOO hope that the Hamaoka plant is still offline) No tsunami alert...

I hate the ones that wake you up like at 4 or 5 in the morning. I don't mind the bed shakin', just not THAT kinda shakin.
Here's what I am going to do. I am going to read up on how to be a Buddhist, and I am gonna pray to Buddha that he is going to reincarnate me so when I kill myself I can come back and be cool as fuck like you.

My keitai is not alarming anymore. I wonder if I turned it off. I didn't turn it on to start with.

Must investigate that some more. Seeing as I am the keitai goddess and all that. :-)

I have an Iphone and I can't find a decent app for earthquakes. I guess you have DoComo or AU? I've heard they are the only ones with the earthquake alarm.

Looks like Shizuoka/Izu got a bit of a shake-up. Then there was the shindo 4 in Aomori. Just little wiggles here and I managed to sleep through both.

We are experiencing a plethora of fair-size quakies lately, aren't we. :-|

That was a weird one!!

I need to go out to Don Quixote today but I am a bit nervous as I would hate to be inside one of those death traps when a big one hits. Especially as I will have my baby son with me in the front pack.

That was longer than 1 sec but didn't seem as strong as the other day.

When I saw this thread I remembered the quake last night. It woke me which is unusual as I dont normally wake up for them. It seemed to go on for ages.

My son was snuggled up with me and I think we both just rolled over and went back to sleep shortly afterwards.

So it was the 3:22 (sort of huge according to the map snotted up to the far end of Hokkaido) certainly, because the 4:38 was just a short but firm frack-> you<- back and forth... (and really local Hamamatsu/Toyohashi).

Did you check them diaperz ? them toddlers and cats usually react the same way. (irrationnal fear of vaccum cleaners; the 'if I can touch it, it's mine' policy; unlimited love for anpanman on the telly, asynchronous activity patterns against the rest of the society....)
