"pray for japan"

Postby tone » Sat Sep 17, 2011 5:16 pm

everytime i see this slogan, it makes me sick

first thing, these americans have plenty to pray for like maybe toning down invading sovreign countries and that their fraud ridden stock market doesnt drag down the world.

on top of that, it just seems like a warm and fuzzy approach to some serious and pressing shit. fuck they should be raging against GE, asking where their donations went, and who knows what, but just "praying" for japan, whatever that is is like saying "paint for japan" during this crazy time.

what thinks the rest of ya

Completely agreed! It sounds more like they are preying on Japan.

Can't abide the slogan myself, it is weak, defeatist, vague and patronizing

"Buy Hitachi!" would be much better

Personnally I'm more along the line to answer that their fucking god has done enough for now (thanks for the quake and tsunami btw) and if it could give us a break that would be nice...

But I end up not being really popular...

And it give those feel-good-while-doing-nothing people an easy target to ostracize...

But I don't think they are much better or worse than the local dunces who start folding paper cranes everytime something usefull could be done...

Delusionnal fools...

The only thing that failed in my Nissan Note was an air intake valve that stopped working overnight for no reason (after around a year). The part was made by Hitachi...

As far as i'm concerned, they can rot in hell...

It's almost as bad as "Ganbarou Nippon!". Not that that's bad in and of itself, but what the fuck does that mean? It's so painfully vague and almost seems like something the government came up w/ as a means of distraction from all the cocked up nonsense happening. I was in living in Hawaii when Katrina hit, but my guess is that such a slogan was not employed by the people of New Orleans that survived the disaster and subsequent riots and police murders.

I had several Japanese friends ask why I didn't have a "pray for Japan" image on my internet profiles. I told them that praying is a waste of time. I was busy helping the people helping Japan.

Was very happy when they continued to talk with me after that. Apparently they don't take religious jabs as seriously as Americans do.

Did anyone catch the anti-nuke rally in the Shibuya area yesterday? Should I feel ashamed that I wanted to walk up to each one and ask them what their realistic plan was for replacing nuclear energy w/o exhausting their only life vest: savings?

i was caught in traffic for an hour because of that shit.

was in the car with the inlaws and the mother said that it is great how the japanese can have demos where they dont act violent and are peaceful... i responded by saying it was great, but nothing will happen.

my wife got all pissed off and i told her that she does not understand the situation and that my statement was realistic rather than being anti-japan or just negative.

so after all those fucking people wanting no power plant... what the fuck is their idea for generating electricity?

go green? wind turbines? solar panels? ya right... that will take another decade or two to replace the power plants... let alone a decade of 50 prime ministers to jugle it back and forth and actually get something half way done.

now if all those people started causing havoc and breaking shit... i think the govt will start to pivot their foot to attempt to tiptoe towards the general idea.

This... totally. The only thing rallies like that are good for is raising awareness... so, these people are raising awareness of perhaps the most videoed and televised disaster in history. :nihonjin:

I'll admit to posting one of those "Pray for Japan" pics despite not being sure anymore if there's anyone up there, and if so if they give a shit about us, but whether or not there is, the truth of the matter is:

I've always thought "Fuck for Japan" would be the best slogan, considering the declining birthrate.
