Here's a weird one: All that clean typhoon air blowing in from the SW caused a spike in radiation levels in Shinjuku...:glow2:

i noticed that, too.
Probably wash off from the superstructures.
Just wait for the leaves to start falling in a month or so, likely see a big spike then.

Dun't know if you'ze joking or if you missed the part were typhoon were rotating air thingies... So, as of nao, air in Tokyo come from Shizuoka, but earlier it was more a downwash from Foukousheemah and all the glorious fallout zone...

Oh fer fuck's sake ...

Amidst some of the heaviest rain and strongest wind I've experienced in quite a while (the house is shuddering), there's a farking earthquake warning on the tube. Didn't turn out to be too bad here, but it was 5- in Hitachi-shi in Ibaraki prefecture.

Could we have a little peace and quiet for a while, please?

Coligny, We are located next to Toyogawa. They just announced the all clear to return about five minutes ago. I announced the all clear at 9:30.

The wind in Aoyama was so strong the building I work in was swaying, it was like an hour long earthquake.

This has been an eventful year, makes me retrospectively appreciate past years.

I had this feeling too during the short after/inside/ the eye phase. Dismissed as my usual inner ear imbalance.

I flew in during the second typhoon on Singapore Air (all the other carriers cancelled their flights) Swaying would have been appreciated, it felt like that plane was doing midair manji's and was about to flip/crash at any moment. (It probably was...they aborted the first landing attempt.)

The flight landed hours late, computers at immigration were messed up so add another hour delay and I was greeted by no buses, no trains, no open rent-a-car counters, and a line for taxis a mile long. (but no taxis) Nothing open and no way to get out of BFE Narita at 10:30PM. Civilized country....international airport....yeah, totally prepared. Lucky for me I had a friend still awake and with a minivan to rescue me. All the other foreigners that were setting up camp inside the airport were no so lucky. "WELCOME TO JAPAN!"

I wondered what was happening with the flights, that sounds like hell.

Still, it's a good holiday story for the tourists.

There were two big trees down on my normal route from work to the station, glad I opted for a different route home or they might have been on my head.

Well they delayed us 2 hours in LA to avoid the typhoon...I figured they knew what they were doing...next thing I know I'm waking up to see the flight attendant in front of me freaking out with a worried look on his face and strapping himself in like he's preparing for a crash.
