Keisatsu learn the Bosozoku way

Postby Big Booger » Tue Sep 16, 2003 9:13 pm

I saw on TV where they were training to catch bosozoku. It was hilarious.. but it seemed to improve their luck of catching them. They were hitting up the conbenis quite hard.. looking for scoundrels. It was interesting.. but nothing like the show "COPS" back in the states..

I think police are hampered by silly red tape and bureacratic procedures.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

Well the police spend a lot of time tracking down lost and stolen bicycles. I spent an amazing 2 hours in the Atago police station last weekend, recovering a friends bike that had been stolen on August 1st.

The "criminal", a 15 year old boy, had stolen the bike and was riding around a train station 10 days ago when he was stopped in a random registration check by the police at 2am on a Sunday morning. The police then rang me (at 2am) as it was my address and phone number used on the original registration. (it is a long story and I won't risk RSI repeating the story)

The boy's father was brought in and wrists were slapped and I had to field a dozen calls all over this damn 8,000 bike. I hope that they police are this diligent if I ever have a real problem, like if, god forbid, my house is ever broken into. I really am hoping for the impossible aren't I?

Taro, I am sure you could enlighten us on this...

Nope, there's no enlightenment from me. :(
I went to identify my possibly-recovered property from my THIRD break-in. No luck: my stuff wasn't there...only the trash they couldn't pawn or fence. The crooks were deported to Chinese detainment and were not emprisoned in Japan (since Japanese jail pays better wages than Chinese factories as the police district chief explained to me).

Pity it wasn't a bike that was stolen.. then you have hot and cold policemen swarming all over the problem..

I've heard often times the person filing the complaints are drilled more than the criminals..

Is it a fact? I don't know, I've only had to experience a speeding violation in Japan.

I had no idea the bike was stolen until they contacted me... then they were falling all over themselves to "solve" the crime. They must have needed a few more bike thefts to make their quota.

Well the friend I talked to said she reported a sexual harrassment at a convenience store. Some guy fondled her, and she smacked him, then he assaulted her. She reported the crime, and they dicked around, drilled her about what happened for hours, didn't get a copy of the konbini tape until it had been erased, and basically told her it was her fault..

She went to the mayor's office and complained and well, let's just say, she left shortly thereafter.

Poor girl.. she should have sent her complaint around to the guys company and reported it to his boss as well as his family. Would have probably had a better result. Sad but true.
