Yes. Parking tickets are petty. Don't bother with them. Traffic infractions like speeding I pay. All of my credit cards are in great standings. In fact, I owe nothing on them, and I have four non-secured credit cards. I pay everything in cash/yen. I only use my BofA MC to purchase iTunes music from the U.S. store. I never ever use my credit card for food, gas, and travel.

Wait til the ward where you get the parking tickets comes to grab your shit at home to auction off for the payment. It happens. It happens with unpaid dues to ya ward (taxes, parking tickets etc) when demands for payment are ignored.

But I:clap: ya for not being on the credit bandwagon. Japan's great for cash payment - in fucking fascist US and growing Big Brother Oz it's more or less a fucking criminal offence to pay for something in cash esp over 100 bucks. The dictators who run both places are doing all they can to get everybody on the surveillance grid and thats why they've got it in for people like me and you who use cash for just about everything.

More power to Japan for letting people pay in cash - I know of a case where a gaijin bought a house in cash, in the home fascist states where we come from he'd have the cash confiscated. Nobody come on with the bullshit about could be drug money blah blah blah. They know enough about everybody, they know where the dirty money comes from. They just wanta move us on to a cashless society but anybody who accepts that w/out thinking needs to start using their brain.

I spose while I'm busy reading the newest mags on science and technology issues, reading scientific websites that focus on futurism and experts in predicting trends and finding out what's really going on in the world of tech and govt interest in it (including a fucking strong push for no paper money and lots of nice chipped cards and numbers for everybody), you're in your Japanese bubble w/your J wife and her family etc.
