Blackberry

Postby AlbertSiegel » Mon Apr 09, 2012 11:59 am

Yes, I know they are unpopular but I really prefer Blackberry over all smartphones. Do any of you know if I can import an unlocked Blackberry bold 9700 and simply use it here on Softbank? If not, what are my other options?

When I was working for Honda, we sent people to Japan using the 9600 via Sprint, so there has to be a way.

Thanks for the help guys! On another note of bad luck...

I ordered a Blackberry Playbook from eBay. It was sold to me as new and indeed was new. It needs to connect to a WiFi network to activate it to be able to use it at all. I was never allowed to register it, so I called RIM only to find out that this was from a stolen shipment back in December. As soon as I tried to use it, they sent a signal to it that permanently disables the unit. It can never be used as a Blackberry tablet again. At least I got a refund through ebay, but it did not cover my shipping cost.

I wonder if there will ever be a way to dump android on this thing without being able to boot it into the main interface? Otherwise, I have an overpriced flashlight for life. This ended up being the most expensive USB cable I've ever had. LOL!

Depends....is there a flash feature on it before it boots up the ROM? For instance, with the X10 you turn off the phone, then you hold down the "back" button and connect a USB cable to it, a little green light comes on and you can flash whatever ROM or program you want on the phone. Might be worth your while to check our xda developers forum or gsmarena or similar for your phone model....

The question is why would anyone ever steal a single Blackberry Playbook, never mind a whole shipment of them?
