about 10 old beer bottles --most of them cracked --... Imperial Japanese Army manufactured toxic gas.

Dang! That ain't mustard gas. That's just Suntory's Super Magnum Dry" happoshu low malt, beer-like swill!

That happoshu swill at 139yen a can is almost as good as "Bullfrog Beer--- pride of Peoria" at $3.99 a 6-pack. See below.

QUESTION for all you drunks out there: What'z the world's WORST beer?

I vote for Bullfrog Beer, Monarch Brewing Co., which is on the second row down, the fifth label from the right:

Here's an update...
Japan's Poison Weapon Past Revives Fears
January 23, 2003, 1:37 AM EST
SAMUKAWA, Japan -- When the power shovel hit a cache of old beer bottles and a strange smell wafted through the air, the highway construction workers figured they had just hit some old garbage and forgot about it.
A few days later, they had sore throats and big, red blisters on their legs and arms.
<snip>
A panel of five government-appointed experts is studying the extent of contamination in Samukawa and possible disposal measures.

But they have a tough task ahead.

"We have no record of poison gas that had been abandoned here," said former Defense Agency chemical weapons expert Yosuke Yamasato, the panel chairman. "We don't even know if we can detect it or ever recover it."...
<snip>
"It's scary," said Hikaru Endo, a 32-year-old architect whose office is next to where the bottles were found. "There might be more bottled poison buried right underneath my feet."

More WWII poison gas victims exposed in Chiba
Mainichi Shimbun, June 5, 2003
CHOSHI, Chiba -- Four more people are believed to have perished after inhaling poison gas allegedly produced by the former Imperial Japanese army, it has been learned... There is a possibility that there were other victims, and the government should conduct a thorough reinvestigation."

Poison Payout

Postby kurohinge1 » Tue Sep 30, 2003 1:05 pm

13 Chinese awarded 190 mil. yen in WWII poison gas suit
The Tokyo District Court on Monday awarded 190 million yen to 13 Chinese nationals who sued the government over poison gas and artillery shells the former Imperial Japanese Army dumped in China after World War II, going against a ruling the same court issued for a separate case in May.

In handing down the ruling, Presiding Judge Yoshihiro Katayama said the Japanese government had neglected its responsibility to supply information to China over the whereabouts of the weapons, which killed and wounded Chinese nationals ...

I found this uninformed trash in an old thread and since it was immediately apparent that Taro was again on his usual uninformed rant about beer in downstate Illinois, I thought I would set the record straight.

Here is a beer rating system (although, unfortunately, mostly US beers) that you might find informative Taro, and lead you at of your Neandrathal mind set on suds and Peoria in general!

"....Beer Ratings

'Round about seven, maybe eight years ago I received a gift twelve pack of "beers of the world." Included in the box was a sheet to rate the various beers on a scale of -11 to 19 based on criteria such as head, color, smell, taste, and aftertaste. Since then I have used this system to evaluate over 260 beers from twenty different countries and twenty-two US states, whose ratings appear here. It's a dirty job but someone had to do it....."

The article and ratings are here.....

I would like to point out that XXX so freely sucked up and advocated by Kurohinge is rated -3!:D

You right there Dimmer, but wouldn't it be fun doing the rating?
