Working as an Interac ALT has got to be worse

I can't decide which is more unsettling:
Ms. Boatfield is delighted to work in the Dead Zone.
<or>
Ms. Boatfield is delighted to be working as a sub-contracted, sub-human, slave ALT for the Mormon douchebags of Interac.

But at least, she's actively trying to take herself out of the gene pool, which, with a face like herz can only be a gud thing...

Am too young and perky for a mammogram. Those things need a soft and squishy boob (ie over 50) to get between those glass plates.

You can thank your lucky stairs that you don't own a cervix... I'll trade you a prostate exam for a pap smear any day. Been subject to those since I was 18 and the thought still makes me wince.

But all of that is nothing the indignity of childbirth. Nothing is sacred after that. Also, if your partner is there, it removes ANY last shred of mystery there was between you. My husband was there and completely poker faced while he witnessed my c-section - bless him. He thought that I would be black and blue after what he saw. The doctor was up on the table yanking my insides apart apparently and using a knee for leverage. I had a spinal block and was just listening for the first baby cry so completely oblivious to it all.

In all seriousness, you should go once a year, especially as a former smoker. Got nothing to do with perkiness.

Fair enough. I'll take your word for it.
I actually ejaculated during my first prostate check. The doctor put on her rubber glove, tickled my gland and it just came forth. I was only 30 then, though, yet still hope and pray each subsequent anal probe has the same effect only to walk out wishing that I could have a case of ji to stop the pain.

Fair enough, again.
I enjoyed attending childbirth, mainly because I knew I'd never have to go through it myself (and there's now a part of me that delights in recalling how much agonizing pain I had put the fucking bitches through and what I'd give to be able to inflict that sort of discomfort again...but that's a separate story)

I'm always glad I never got periods.

Do they even do those here? I swear I've yet to meet a local that gets regular STD checks and it's rare to meet ones who have even had on at all. :(

Dude - pap smears are not STD tests in the traditional sense. They are looking for abnormal cells that might indicate cancer of the cervix. Yes the HPV has been found as a link recently, but this is a separate test.

HPV is one of the possible cause for cervical cancer. Vaccination against is now offered for girls in highschool back home free of charge under the commie state healthcare plan.

Darwin would have loved this stuff... a virus able to trigger cancer... that's nearly as awesome as prions... a protein designed to fuck your shit up... If you are a creationnist, you have to admit there's quite some sick bastard up there in the clouds...

Yeah, GG is right on that. I know j-birds who think that because their annual employment health check was "ok", they are STD free and clear. While those checks can be thorough, I've yet to hear of one that had sexual health as a concern. Even the "ningen dokku" they get at age 40 doesn't delve into that. In general they've been poorly educated about those sorts of issues (if at all), and have not taken it upon themselves to further their own edumacation.

Not to pick a fight where none is needed, but prions AFAIK are just proteins "folded" differently than the ones our bodies use. Now the effects of diseases caused by prions are pretty awesome. :cool2:

Which then act as a template for local proteins to become shitfaced...

I think most of molecular and micro biology could be summarized by that word. The elegance of the mitochondrium's proton pump is another example of how time + environmental pressure = excellence. In comparison, mankind's batteries are far less efficient.

Nope - pap smears have been around for much longer than the HPV test. Pap smears are when the doctor scrapes cervical cells (this is horrible) and then they are checked under a microscope to see if there are any odd cancer or pre-cancer looking cells. It is not a pleasant test but it is necessary as cervical cancer is fast, nasty but super treatable if caught early.

The tests should be done at first yearly. Then every two years if everything is cool.

It is only fairly recently that the link between the HPV and cervical cancer has been proven. I have had plenty of pap smears but never had an HPV test I don't think. Unless it was in the preggo workup.

Tell your lemurs, that if they have a cervix, then they should be having this test as gross as it is. You need to just try to relax, breathe, lie back and think of England. It is over pretty quickly which is the only consolation. I have had some friends with cervical cancer but solved with an operation and early treatment. Scary as hell.

Well, I don't know about that...

When I pump myself with some environmental pressure over time, I can certainly produce some excellence that goes perfectly well with the mitochondrial...

By the way, isn't the mitochondrium that place in Ibaraki Prefecture that sells prophylactics?
