Matt most likely fell (or was blown) from the switchbacks at the higher elevations (stations 8-10). This area was searched in February, but was covered in unusual amounts of snow."

The cops will try and get a confession before that and then add a new charge (I'd say murder may be unlikely because of a lack of premeditation), but will bide their time and find other charges to lay after 23 days if need be.
Making suspects stew in their juices until they fess up is a common tactic employed here.

chokonen888 wrote:Yeah, I guess what I was saying is with all that evidence they should have, getting confessions would seem to be easy and fast in this case. I keep saying should have because TIJ and I wouldn't be surprised if the cameras weren't on or any footage they took was deleted before it was found it could be useful.

Gotta love when the J-popo's get called out on their bullshit investigative skills and just cover shit up. Won't release the autopsy report, or the surveillance video...pretty unreasonable. The Lacey case just sounds like lazy popo's trying to avoid doing their jobs. The Kang one sounds like they must have been on the payroll of someone involved to have video and the ID'S on such an assault and ruled it an accident backed by dismissing a beat down as gay playfulness.

No difference in Japan. You either murder or didn't murder. They'll probably get "inflicting bodily harm resulting in death," which is like 2nd degree. It could also be aggravated if rape is involved. Either way for the guy who did it, 10-12, maybe 15 because they're black, and probably about 1/3rd of that if it was the minor.
Police arrested two Americans, one 19 year old Richard Hinds and the other 23-year-old dancer James Jamari Blackston who allegedly gave drinks to her friend Sarah Maher. Later Hinds confessed to police that he strangled Furlong after he raped her. In June 2012 family members of Nicola Furlong came to Japan to take her body for homeland.
Nicola Furlong and her friend were drugged, kidnapped (forced into a taxi) sexually assaulted in the taxi then taken to the Keio Hotel Tokyo where the hotel broke the Japanese law and allowed non-registered guests into the rooms at night and assisted the Kidnappers by giving them a wheelchair to bring the comatose girls to the room, where they were raped and one murdered.
In August 2012 they plead guilty.

So what happened to the two black guys arrested for the Irish girl's murder?
