It would seem someone is not wholly in agreement with the idea of relieving the taxpayer of vast amounts of money for the urgently needed construction of high-grade sporting facilities.

Japan should remain with its Shinto roots, with a tori-i in every home.

Imagine if a whole town was destroyed and only a Scient-logy Guest Center
was left standing amid a whole city flat with rubble. That'd be freaky...

I know it's a joke but ... there's a serious problem with the geography there that kinda cancels out any potential funniness.

Couldn't be arsed explaining though.

Yeah, that makes much more sense.
Too late though. My sense of humor has been rendered temporarily out of order.

Years of therapy and you still haven't overcome your hateress for japanese unique superior open air wiring technology... Also known as "biblical clusterfuck" among first world electrical grid engineers...

Well, their sign can not even resist fragmentation through Google's software, so what do you expect of their building?

But, yeah, admittedly it would be freaky if that would be the only thing left when Tokyo is flattened...

Firm flushed with pride over toilet's new name
http://www.istockanalyst.com/article/viewiStockNews/articleid/3497413
Sep. 22, 2009 (The Yomiuri Shimbun) -- "Kuyakusho Mae Toire Shindanshi no Kawaya-do."
So reads a large signboard that adorns the outer wall of a public lavatory located in an area crowded with live music venues, cafes and other buildings in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The sign also sports an English translation that reads, "Kawaya-do of Toilet Diagnosis Expert," thus partly clarifying the purpose of the building--a public toilet maintained by experts, which in this case, happens to be situated in front of the Shibuya Ward Office.
"Kawaya" is an old Japanese word for lavatory.
Young women passing the signboard, looked up at it in surprise, saying, "What's this?"
The name was dreamed up by a lavatory maintenance company that bought the right to name the facility from the Shibuya Ward government.
The original name of the lavatory was Shibuya Ward Municipal Lavatory in front of the Ward Office.
The public toilet was among 14 such facilities that the ward office earmarked in January to be renamed.

Fukkeikun of the Fukuoka Police is urging local citizens to collect a 100,000 yen reward turning in people in possession of hand grenades and sagely reminds us to "run away" at the sight of a loose hand grenade.

This following the recent TV bit where a kid brought a hand-grenade to school for show-and-tell after getting it from her grandpa. Remind me again who the are the terrorists?

There has been, "at least five incidents involving hand grenades in the Fukuoka prefecture last year(2011)"{The Atlantic Wire}.
I bet the Japanese penalty for the use of an explosive device is far less severe than the laws covering the use of handguns. :???:

That reminds me. Week before last my train was running late and was repeatedly stopping between stations. They kept announcing that there was a 人身事故 and that the delays were because they were cleaning the track. First time I've heard that announcement. :puke:
