Immigration spotchecks not racist, says Home Office

Claims that non-white people are targeted by UKBA officers at tube stations are contested by minister Mark Harper

The Home Office has denied that officials broke the law by carrying out "racist" spot checks on suspected illegal immigrants on the basis of their skin colour.

The denial by immigration minister Mark Harper came after the Equality and Human Rights Commission launched an investigation into the immigration checks for possible discrimination, and anti-racism campaigner Doreen Lawrence also questioned the apparent focus on non-white people in operations being carried out in and around train stations.

Harper said the choice of London tube stations for spot checks was driven by intelligence, and that individuals were targeted on the basis of their behaviour rather than their physical appearance.

LOL yea your definitely not making it up. These places are a dime a dozen here in oki. Mostly to keep out the Government Issue but goes for the rest of us too. They have a right to deny service to anyone they choose, no skin off my arse... I'll gladly drop a bill or two in a place that shows me better hospitality.

So, I wanted to find and post a youtube video of a deaf person trying to sing, to karaoke. Like Marlie Matlin or something.

And then I found out deaf karaoke is a thing and its more like dancing. Like, signing with rhythm and tempo and stuff.

2. The first post form that guy makes me want to see it but the only thing on Youtube is the same guy over and over at carious places doing some kind of interpretive dance that is not actual signing cause he's a comedian, not a deaf person.

3. I do wish I'd found video of that for someone to smack Debito around with for being a shallow-minded prick thinking deaf people don't enjoy music or being treated like a non-impared person.

4. Blind Karaoke would be easy, just need a little equipment and maybe slower tempo songs. Blind people use computers all the time thanks to either things like Jaws (screen reader software) or other equipment.

Now, back to your regular story about targeting evil brown people based on their behavior or something?
