That all said, after having used a Mac for three years, I don't ever see myself switching back, unless Apple really drops the ball.

Seen IOs 7 yet ?

I've been using Apple stuff since the first grade (Apple ][+) and rolling with the punches along the way. IOS7 really bugged me at first just about as much as anything they have ever done but it kind of grows on you after a bit. And now I actually kind of like it.

Same here, i was using Macs since first grade but i switched to a pc when i was in high-school cause i was learning HTML and assembly language. Cant transition back now.

iPhones just piss me off when i use them... so limited and customization is slim to none.

aw boy, the same weak ass reason to prefer PC hardware.... "but you can choose all your component init " From people who usually end up with wallmart bottom shelf 'multimedia' PC...

When something is done right, it don't need much customisation for most users... And clowns that call themselves "power users" while referring to smartphones deserve a beating...

The problem between IOS6 and 7 is they completely changed the artistical presentation. While not improving jack shit on usability. They just overexploit the retina display, with small fonts and low contrast, make some behaviour awkward. It feels like a shareholder meeting decision headed by Tim Cook "look, am da boss nao, I can change shit as a want"

Yes Jobs was an egoistical despot. But nothing in the Apple ecosystem was making you feel it was done "for" him, it felt much more like the result of a school of design for which he was only the apostle. He was not adding every brainfart to products to gave his signature, he was the guy removing as much shit as possible while maintaining usefulness. I think we are ahead of really stupid times where the next apple move will be driven by or in the name of stock value...

(that and also, I like using software that looked like the real world item it replaced...)

IOS7 is fine. It's different looking, but the functionality is the same as IOS6.

People often complain about not being able to customize iphones, but I wasn't into customizing my phone before I was on an iphone, and I'm still not. For me it's much more important to have a phone that is dependable, that I don't have to spend hours trying to fix small issues on regularly. I've been on an iphone for 3 years, never had any problems with them at all.

it is not decision, its a force move. When i was studying, going through my bachelor and worked in the hardware design industry, there was not one fucking Mac. I would have preferred Linux, but no, it wasn't an option.

After the above quote.... TLDR. but i can bet it was a rant about something that you thought i wrote, that you want to go on about.

Very true. i went a couple days with a soft bricked phone every now and then... but i do a lot of testing and stiff on xda, so it was expected.

The two qualities i appreciate about Macs are that they come hardware adept (vs a "PC") and they don't fuck up even if you try to do something dumb.

My conspiracy theory is that the forums were off message for what they were looking for for the site. It might have brought traffic, but not necessarily the right traffic and might even have been a PR liability, so they did not see benefit in doing substantial maintenance work.

I think there is some truth to that -- essentially it was a schizoid site -- half of it was a site that was saying "Come to Japan, its wonderful and take these great jobs!" while the other half was saying "Don't come, its shit, those jobs are shit and if you come you will soon want to die!"

So you had the huckster shill wankers pushing their bullshit that Japan is a perfect land of opportunity on one hand, contradicted by the sadsack, alcoholic losers saying that Japan was the land of doom and gloom. Someone had to go and in the end it was the sadsack, alcoholic losers. It is a shame because, somewhere in the dialect between these opposing views one could find the reality of life in Japan.

Aye, because I am so often in the habit of taking important life decisions from anonymous geek asswipes on the internetz.

This is irrespective of the fact that your advice has no bearing whatsoever on my life circumstances.

So anyway, why not take yer SC-O3E and shove it squarely up your Tapatalk 2, nerdbot?
