Doesn't exactly match the M5+ every hour or so in the days before 3.11, but yes I did notice the slight increase in frequency... (off to raid the local drug stores for toilet paper)

The local quake map back then was hillarious (well sort of, from a cartographer standpoint)... There was no more japan on the screen, just basilion of quake indicator flags...

Thanks... but da problem is that here in the urban wilderness with no motorised transport, the big stores are logistically tricky to reach and transport stuff from. There is however a cluster of drug stores on the nearby main road. We do have two packs stashed in the loft, but I wonder if that would be enough if there's a double whammy of earthquake *and* norovirus outbreak.

Yanpa (who back in 2011 had to raid the office for a 12-pack and got some odd looks while carrying it on the train).

People were just eyeing off the 12 pack and thinking about trying to form a posse to steal them from you. But as they were all Japanese, no decisions were made in time so the opportunity was missed.

Genius! I don't have a watertank unfortunately so will have to go with enhanced security rather than concealment. Now thinking about fitting steel plate to the cupboard doors.

Frack, that reminds me I have to buy a safe.

I kind of decided to buy one that is heavy and protects magnetic media, like hard disks, in case of fire (not that I have a lot of pron to store). Hard disk are more sensitive to high temperatures than documents, so that would keep everything fine for at least the time it takes the fire brigade to sprinkle my house.

Probably not enough... but I really think feline species is better equipped to survive an apocalyptic scenario than we are. And You? cans of stacked shechkin in the Yanpa root cellar?

Yes... but what will they do once the last cardboard box has worn out? Make their own entertainment?

Touché...

I have around 5 meters of cardboard box choked corridor on the south wing of the clinic...
Their position keeps changing all day long... Sometimes a super excited feline is seen popping on top which quickly collapse to turn into a bottom...
Especially fun at night when the struggle extend to the kitchen and you start hearing glass being broken...
Lucky... Only 3 kitteh for now... Don't think i can handle more without having to shovel shit out of sandboxes full time...

Speaking of which, 2 weeks ago the furry kitteh got her first 'heat'.... Had to give her the bees and flower talk...
This week it's the turtleshell turn... If I have to speak more aboot bees I might start shitting honey (would be better than blood anyway)...

For those wondering... Cat x heat x turtleshell = total madness i did the standard test bucket full of cold water and ice cubes, take cat, dip cat's ass in water... No change in the 'me sooo hoony ' purring... Do that to a turtleshell in normal state, don't expect to have any skin or muscle remaining on the bones of your arms...

Terribly sorry mate. I was referring to canned tuna, er the japanglish word "Sea Chicken" pronounced SHEECH KIN ... or is that a local thing here? though having a few Russians conserved in the pantry might come in handy for something.
