Kill Bill Vol.2 Promotional Pics

Postby BlazeAlpha » Thu Nov 13, 2003 5:25 pm

Here are three brand new promotional pics from Kill Bill Vol.2. The first pic is Black Mamba/The Bride (Uma Thruman) pointing a 9mm at someone (Bill perhaps?). The second pic is Bill (David Caradine) sitting across a table from Black Mamba. Bill extends his Hattori Hanzo sword as Black Mamba blocks it with hers. The third pic is Black Mamba being trained and schooled by White Lotus Priest Pak Mei (Gordon Liu) as he impressively leaps on top of her sword. For anyone who has seen the classic Shaw Brothers films "Executioners Of Shaolin" and "Fist Of The White Lotus", you'll know the legend behind Pak Mei. Pak Mei isn't anyone to fuck with. February can't come soon enough for Vol.2.

Exactly. That's the point of Kill Bill. It's a fun homage film that brings back memories of watching Shaw Brothers kung Fu films on saturdays. It's the ultimate geek film.

Here are MORE Kill Bill Vol.2 promotional pics. Most of the pics are from the "The Cruel Tutelage Of Pak Mei" chapter.

The Japan Times has an interview with the 5,6,7,8's. They were the band playing in the nightclub.

The 5.6.7.8's might be legends in Japan's underground garage-rock scene and release records on the same label as The White Stripes in the States (Sympathy for the Record Industry), but that's about as far as their fame stretches. So how the hell did they end up in "Kill Bill"?

"Tarantino was in Japan for a 'Kill Bill' meeting and he was browsing in this thrift store in Ebisu. The clerk is a fan of ours and she was playing our record," says Ronnie. "It was the first six songs on the new album, actually. And Tarantino asked her to sell him the record."

"But it was her record, so she told Tarantino to go and buy his own copy," continues Sachiko. "So he left the store to search for it, but he ran out of time as he had to return to the U.S. so he went back to the thrift store and begged the clerk for her copy. She finally gave in and let him have it -- but she charged him double the price.".

I'd bet this isn't exactly how it happened because I can't believe Tarantino is this big of an idiot. That band is more popular in the U.S. than in Japan, and it wouldn't be tough to find that record at a half dozen places in LA. Or certainly one of his many lackeys could have gotten it for him.
