Testing limits of deleting post function

Postby wagyl » Thu Jul 31, 2014 9:28 pm

I know that you can not delete your own post if it is no longer the last one in the thread. This will be a test to see whether, if the posts following it in the thread are deleted, and it becomes the last post in the thread again, it can then be deleted just the same as though those following posts had never existed.

If no other posts from me appear in this thread, you can assume that I was successful.

That sounds like a great hobby, testing the delete function...

If a post is deleted when no-one else is around to see it, does it make a noise?

You mean, if it is deleted and nobody observes it at that moment, is it deleted or not?

That sounds like quantum physics.

Unfortunately, the superposition can be destroyed by noise.

You guys! Now I can't delete this thread unless I delete this post then you delete your posts!

As far as hobbies go, what do you do on Thursday evenings, Russell?

Seriously, it did tell me that if you want to delete an old post of yours without pestering moderators, and you can convince anyone who has posted after you to delete (yeah I know, how likely is that to be successful?) then you can. I left the thread up to save the rest of you ruining your Thursday evenings.

And now the meaning of my last paragraph in the OP is ambiguous....
