Only been to Yokosuka a couple of times, not a bad place even if most of the bars have the number of the base police pasted prominently, and the Keikyu is nice and zippy to Yokohama and beyond.
It's also home to a big ship built in the town next to the one I grew up in, but the Japanese don't like to broadcast that fact as the ship in question is part of the Founding Myth of Modern Japan (aka That Time When We First Beat A Bunch Of White Guys).

If not... Trading one hell for another with some money topping that you don't seem to be needing...

Would definitely NOT do it for free... definitely DON'T need the money, gonna have to think on this. The wife doesn't seem to mind about the transition though.

wagyl wrote:Your wife minding about the transition was likely to be your biggest issue, and seeing as that is not an issue I would give it a go. Especially as the Okinawa fall back position is still there because the family there will always welcome you back so long as you bring the wife with you too.
In my view, Coligny's questions are valid for him, but not for everybody. In fact, they give a deep insight into why he is happy to be a hikikomori. But as to their validity in relation to you: well, for a start, we have not established that Yokosuka is a hell yet. All I know is that it is a navy town and a Nissan town, but it sounds to me like you are ready for a change from Okinawa, and as I said, if the wife is on board, well, what are you waiting for?
