Yeah, it's not quite that. It's that the first few characters of any given search either get repeated or end up as Roman
so........いしがき石垣島。。。。or.........iしがき。。。。。。。。。

Sounds like we have similar systems, but it's not the web pages themselves but the input of search terms when Googling from the main middle box at Google.ca (or whatever).
Anyways, that will work for now. Thanks to all, and esp. wagyl.
