From what I've heard, it's a scam and there isn't much money in it. Instead of you could be a movie/AV/etc. star!! The incentive is mostly one-upping your peers with "well MY kid is a fashion model!"

Aye. It is work - and quite hard work sometimes. Daughter did a couple of shoots for a childcare book because an acquaintance's wife was the editor and she asked nicely. That snagged us quite a nice souvenir but it was plenty to persuade us that we didn't want to do any more and that it is in fact, work.
