Going by that logic you'll never place your member in the mouth of a woman (the "physiological purpose" of the mouth is for eating, talking, breathing).

I accept people do it, but I won't ever think it is 'natural', for straight or gay people, it is somewhat deviant behaviour.....But it doesn't even matter what I think, it is just my private opinion. It's not like I'm going to treat gay people negatively because of it-because it is their private life.

Now you have moved on from the original complaint I had against Ramchop. Perhaps you have trouble focusing...

Well perhaps I should reword it. Something along the lines of:

"It's much easier for a woman to catch HIV from sexual intercourse than for a man. Unless of course you're talking about a man to man encounter. (ick!) [note: that's a "ick!" about anuses, not an "ick!" about gay people in general, who I find to be perfectly acceptable members of society, whose only flaw is their ability to entice the politically correct to jump up and down indignantly whenever they read too much into to anything. Jez, do you post on Let's Japan? I think you do Rev...er, I mean Jez. Drop that ad hominem and strawman BS! He made a statement in response to you. You open yourself to attack when you post on the net. Freedom of Verbal Spewage and all that. Heh. You said "cockbite." Watch Red vs. Blue much? :D

Oh, and Gord's not nearly as great as he makes himself out to be. He occasionally posts on another board I'm on and is quite the effete little snot most of the time. One should never believe one's own press - especially when it's self-authored.

OMG Freud would be having a field day with the content of today's discussion between you all.

Why is that whenever the conversation turns toward homosexuality, everybody focuses on anal sex? This is really just a small part of what it is to be gay and many guys don't even do it during casual sex.. unlike heterosexual casual sex where penetration is par for the course. It is almost like a fascination that heterosexual guys have in imagining what gay boys get up to.. personally I could give two hoots for what other people do in the sack. I am no voyeur and have no interest in other people's sex lives.

You do indeed have the right, but you treat it as if it were a mandate. I apologize for the name-calling, it was said in frustration and anger. And you did indeed contribute this post. I am twice rebuked. Yet, my point is still valid. You are far more critical of other people's posts than on the actual subjects. You tend to after the poster for their beliefs rather than espouce your own. While this does allow some of us to clarify our intent and position, it still comes off as arrogance. All I am saying is back off a bit. A smiley does not take the sting out every back-handed insult, and tends to push those less confrontational off the boards. They won't want to post because the Great Jez will call them out if they don't have the same opinions and values.

Thanks for the constructive criticism of my debating skills. May I ask, how many debates have been won with the brilliant line "Oooh! Ad hominems! Strawman fallacies! Idiot's delights!"?

You are a pompous twat. (note: this is merely an expressed opinion, not in any way used as a supporting arguement to anything said previously... if you feel the need to stick a label on it, I think "juvenile insult" will suffice)

back to the subject:

WHO accused of huge HIV blunder

Gisselquist's work prompted the WHO to hold a meeting on unsafe injections in March 2003. He says data supporting his claims was presented, but it was not reflected in the meeting's conclusions. Instead, the press release proclaimed: "An expert group has reaffirmed that unsafe sexual practices are responsible for the vast majority of HIV infections in sub-Saharan Africa."

Six months before the meeting, UNAIDS drew up a report, which has been seen by New Scientist, that contradicts this position. Based on a review of 23 studies, it concludes that in sub-Saharan Africa, "contaminated injections may cause between 12 and 33 per cent of new HIV infections". That is far higher than the accepted 2.5 per cent figure.

...

"In Asia, if we don't get that message out, the epidemic could really blow up," he warns. The WHO's own figures, based on observations in hospitals and clinics, suggest that up to 75 per cent of injections in parts of south-east Asia are carried out using unsterilised equipment, compared with just 20 per cent in sub-Saharan Africa.

Note: do not get immunised in some parts of SE Asia.

Sorry if I come accross as arrogant. I often post my opinions, however, in conjunction with my 'attacks'. I think there is far too much ignorance spread on the web(as in 'real' life), and I feel the duty, as a human being to point this out. I do not see myself as special, indeed I wish more people would take the time to rebuke ignorance.
I dislike arrogance, and will always try not to be so, but I find ignorant and prejudiced speech even more disturbing. In fact such speech can also be termed 'arrogant'.
I think no-one should be allowed to get away with prejudiced and ignorant comments.

Many of us believe that AIDS is only transmitted by a sexual relationship. According to the 1994 statistics of HIV patients in Japan, however, 1792 hemophiliac patients out of 2616 were infected with HIV. Ryuuichi Hirokawa claims that seventy percent of HIV patients in Japan used to have hemophiliac treatment (2). Although there should be no connection between the hemophiliac and AIDS, medical experts in Japan failed to prevent such a tragedy. Japanese and American pharmaceutical companies were more concerned with profits than with good medicine, and both Japan and America government policy failed to protect the public. If we do not learn from these mistakes, the tragedy of HIV in future will be repeated again.

Be that as it may, who made you the resident Posting Police? Arguing for change can be noble, but like the boy who cried wolf, the more you nag the more you are ignored or baited into arguement after arguement disrupting the entire board eventually. You challenge without establishing yourself first, thus instead of coming off as informed, you simply appear to be calling everyone a liar. Why shouldn't people have prejudices? Because you say so? Got news for you, you are doomed to constant dissappointment. Ignorance is curable, but only if people value you as a source and don't ignore you out of hand because of the heavy-handed tactics you use. Teach, don't preach. There are so many different ways to open debate, yet you use the most confrontational ones most of the time. Try a different tactic sometime, and see if perhaps people listen to you instead of automatically going on the defensive.

Anal Cancer
The risk for anal cancer is a concern for men and women who have anal sex. It can produce malignant tumors inside and outside the anal canal. Many people with early anal cancer have no symptoms. The major risk factor for anal cancer is infection with HPV. Many LGBT practitioners are advising routine anal Pap smears to detect the early changes that might indicate a risk of developing anal cancer. There are no long term studies, but some providers advise that any male with a history of having anal sex should be screened. Also women with cervical dysplasia should be screened. About twice as many HIV-positive men as uninfected men develop anal cancer, so this group is particularly at risk. Although anal cancer accounts for less than 5% of all digestive and intestinal tract cancers, the rate of incidence is rising.

HPV is genital warts which can grow on the anus and cause cancer but that's a side effect of an STD not of anal sex itself. Anal sex doesn't cause HPV, it's a way that HPV can be spread. Anal sex with a person with no STD's will not cause cancer, I think.

It being anal sex. The HPV is the major risk factor that adds to or contributes to the cancer.

Meaning you can get cancer from anal intercourse, but if you have HPV, it is more risky... unless I am reading that wrong which is entirely possible.

Yeah, my bad. It reads that way. It seems like a good link, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I don't believe it. Actually, I just think it's badly worded. I've spent the last hour or so hitting websites and reading up on this and again and again the HPV things keeps coming up. Here's a link to the American Cancer Society. On this and from other sources nothing suggests that anal sex alone just by tearing the skin or whatever can cause cancer. Causes of Anal Cancer

http://www.mamashealth.com/cancer/analcancer.asp

I found another source to confirm the original source:

Anal cancer is more common in American women than men. It is often seen above age 60. In younger adults, it is more common in single homosexual men than in heterosexual men. This occurs because receptive anal intercourse significantly increases the risk of developing this cancer.

But I think having HPV is even more of a risk to contracting anal cancer than just receiving it.
