What makes Suspension Of Disbelief FAIL in a show or movie, is it the bad acting, the lack of color and drama and explosions to keep your eye and mind busy, is it poor sound and music, the lack of good camera work.

Kids can be entertained bya toon, they have a different leevl of entertainment, a respond to toys and coloring books and games, Adults can be kids too watching 'Soap Opera' or watch tv in WWE, Professional wrestling in Japan Puroresu and WWF professional wrestling, kayfabe, as a noun, is the portrayal of staged events of media industry as "real" or "true", specifically the competition, rivalries, and relationships between participants as being genuine and not staged. I know it had source material or its 'based on the manga' or something but I found it becoming unwatchable. It starts out like Batoru Rowaiaru 映画 バトル・ロワイアル the Japan Battle Royale, Running Man, The Purge, Hunger Games, Squid Games, at the start of this show it messes with reality so you are unsure if its all a sick game or trick or illusion, people are competing against each other. They are teleported or transported into a lethal version of Tokyo, trapped in an abandoned Tokyo forced to compete in dangerous games in a kind of 'Death Match'

The central figures are hikikomori otaku, there is also a powerful feminist type climbing woman girl who climbs up walls, climbs up stairs, climbs her way out of everything, there are gangster types who have no problem murdering or cheating to win, there is an effeminate guy Chishiya who seems to be a kind of gamer strategist and the 'game' is suited to him / her? However worst of all for me was 'Aya Asahina' I know she maybe is a highly regarded actress at Cannes like 'Tao Tsuchiya' or some shit but I could not take anymore of the character in the tv show, maybe the writing is crap or maybe its the original source material. All of the big actors are known for their talent and ability in other shows and movies

Which is saying a lot since Hollywood has nothing, Avatar 2 flopping, Lightyear another turkey another box office bomb, a Lord of the Rings remake they filled it with Rapper, Wonder Woman remake flops, West Side Story remake flopped, Space Jam 2 flopped and Hollyweird is basically empty of entertainment right now, it has no more idea, no risk taking and all its dumb remakes flop apart from TopGun which made A LOT of money. Japan should be making money on Netflix, HBO, Disney, BBC, Amazon, Hulu etc but its South Korean movies and shows or other indie film and tv that are starting to dominate.

People have been crying out for material since the whole Weinstein scandals and Covid shutdowns and new 'Woke SJW' politics the Japanese Manga now outsell Marvel and DC inside America but Japan is losing an opportunity to deliver product, it is failing and confirming its movie industry died years ago.

If Korean 'Squid Games' was borrowed from or inspired by Alice in Borderland then it is a better remake.
