For those who are in Japan, the 25th is a regular work day.

Total votes = 2, so I'm straight after you?

Bummer working on yet another Christmas, but you get used to it after a while...haven't been home for eight years, last time I had Christmas off was....hey, I'm a prime candidate for 'You've Been In Japan Too Long When... ' you can't remember stuff like this anymore :(

On the bright side, my favorite, cute and zany 4 year old whizz kid student and his mom threw a party last night, got a present to prove it

Definitely one of my best Christmases ever...

We celebrate New Year's Day instead. Much less shopping hype/frenzy involved, and more fun!
I'll be drinking champagne(well, wine anyway)with my students tomorrow. Nothing to complain about there...

I second that, except I'm the asshole, so it doesn't really count. ;)

18 days off minus one hour of work on Tuesday. Ahhhh. I feel like a German worker.

the Only thing is catching up to biz on the U.S. side before folks go on Vacay. But the New Years thing I'd say is busy but fun.

1. Osouji (Actually, I hate this part because it means cleaning my studio. -But is cool after).

2.Go to the fish markets in nishi-eki
Cool to see but facing the hords of obachan jiichans in the local JR takashimaya is a bit of a pain.

3. make mochi, eat it, and break out the Kubota. (Goodtimes! :D)

4.Hatsumode - Atsuda jingu (Making friends with the god's of this great land, for they may shine on you ;) )

-As for christmas, I nearly have no feeling toward it as much now.. bit of a shame that..
