Clapton is to blues what Kenny G is to jazz. Only Kenny G probably knows he's cheesy whereas Clapton seems to take himself seriously.

When he was just one member of a strong group he made some nice music, and they always seemed careful not to let him sing. Some of his Yardbirds stuff is still good, and a few Bluesbreakers and Blind Faith tunes, but other than that, yeah.....Kenny G. hehehe :puke: The couple of times I have seen Kenny G speak he seems like a very nice man that does seem to know the score. I think he makes David Hasselhof style "But I'm Rich, Muddafuckers" jokes when people have a go at him. And he's a Seattle boy, which is nice.

BOT: I just read the reports of the pre-Olympic abuse. Shocking crap, even for somebody that had the misfortune to visit there in December '87. This issue could dog them for years, and revelations like this could help eat away at some of the current silliness that makes it sound like Japan and Korea are like the US and Canada as far as levels of development goes. That is some medieval shiite, but totally plausible. Let's hope we see some heads rolling.
And let's hope the 2020 cabal doesn't take any inspiration for a solution to the Shinjuku slum problems.

Taylor Banks Hey everyone, I'm a Mizzou student, and I agree that people get offended over everything nowadays, but I wanted to clear up a misconception.
It is not white liberals or Anerican liberals who are claiming that the sunshine sushi logo is racist. It is foreign students from Korea and other Asian countries who were under the influence of Japan during WWII.
That's why, just so you know.

this kind of superficially liberal pretender, who always just try to take sides with poor looking people without verifying their poor-looking assertion, make me fed up on the bottom of my heart. but the fact that almost all of the comments on the fb page are rational and fair makes me feel relieved for the time being.
Korea and other Asian countries

and its also the time to spread the word "specific asia" all over english speaking countries.

After an international outcry when Airdre went public, police were forced to respond, and a Nigerian man was arrested for her rape. But he’s being prosecuted for sexual harassment rather than rape or even assault, because she was unconscious and therefore cannot prove she didn’t consent, says Langdon.

The big hope is that the country can innovate its way out of a looming economic crisis — and win a Nobel prize in the process.

http://www.nature.com/news/why-south-ko ... ch-1.19997
south-korea-graphic-patents.jpg

on the other hand, japan already is being liberated from nobel prize complex. in my child days, if some japanese won a nobel prize, the guy was making a topic of tv program all the year long. but now j-ppl forget it in a few weeks even though someone win a nobel.

Of course there are good scientists in China, but there is also a lot of fake.

Until recently many conferences in China were just paper-generators, to push up the number of publications for researchers and students there. There hardly used to be reviews of the papers, and a vast majority of researchers did not show up for their presentations at conferences. The reason is that researchers in China get paid in accordance to their number of publications.

I never go there anymore, unless I know the organizers personally.

Yes, that rings very true. For my sins I sometimes do a final edit of anonymous peer reviews of cardiology research papers. Almost all seem to come from China and to a lesser extent, Israel. And they are 95% absolutely dreadful, as in basic errors in scientific method and complete failure to consider obviously significant variables. As you say - people earning money for volume with little concern for value or accuracy.

just go listen to j-professors. in pre-internet era, in every fields, some of them have experiences that the papers of their peak period, aside from whether the papers excellent ones or not, were copied and published in korea by their ex-korean colleagues as if those koreans composed them by themselves. and they are/were treated as authoritative professors in there korea. :shake:
well, also in japan, although there are some "authorities", all whose done is just translated and introduced the influential theories of euro-merica at those times, they are/were treated as authorities at each their fields. but at least they didnt tell a lie that its their own achievements, unlike k-ones.

in National Archives and Records Administration, another interrogatory is found, in which three korean prisoners said comfort women voluntarily became it of their own free will or were sold by their parents.

Where can I see the text? Given the past record of outright fabrication (eg the one year old diplomat's statement about Koreans) and wild misrepresentation (eg the POW in Burma who said he personally chose not to use JIA prostitutes) we really need to read the text before giving any weight to your report.

the fact most of comfort women voluntarily became it or were sold by their parents is a settled matter among the ppl knowing the basic knowledge about this issue. this article is just to undergird it. who doesnt wanna recognize it are korean, chinese and liberal pretending fucking some of westerners.
and this article is written by pro-korea liberal mainich, not by sankei or yomiuri. or just google by yourself with that photo as a clue.

So, neither you or the newspaper have any access to the text. Googling the image turns up nothing at all - as expected. In that case I give your report zero weight. The newspaper's report may have a little more weight in that you may well have misrepresented it but I'm not in a position to judge that.

A lot of kids in South East Asia get sold into prostitution by their parent. I guess that lets pimps and pedophiles off the hook.

The Mainichi is racist and panders to Japan's right-wing.
But, having said that, I would not be surprised if there had indeed been many voluntary prostitutes working at the comfort stations. Considering the very first postwar action taken by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government was to begin recruiting for what became the RAA, and national/local government involvement in licensed prostitution, there is a clear pattern of Japanese public authorities proactively procuring sexual relief for men in general and the military in particular. Indeed, this is a practice that goes back centuries, longer even than Japanese historical fabrication that mythologized the Imperial Family to maintain your cuntry's oligarchy and is often employed to reinforce your denial and craving to avoid responsibility.
All the comfort women issue does is reinforce the long list of facts that confirm none of the East Asians are honest.
