you never have verified j-sides assertions by yourself and just judge only by hearsays as almost all of westerners do.
in japanese historical academy and journalism world, there are, roughly speaking, 3 factions about comfort women issue.
narrow sensed enforcement faction, broad sensed enforcement faction and no enforcement faction(fuking western medias always try to focus only on the 3rd faction).
in japan, free debate is allowed about historical issues in public and nobody is assassinated, imprisoned or sued by their government, unlike in c and k.

You're right, there are different arguments regarding the comfort women, but the establishment so overwhelmingly supports the argument of the revisionists that dissenting voices are rarely heard and often ridiculed. There is free debate, to be sure, but in the manner of the Soviet Union's judicial process being functional during the Great Purge.
Unfortunately, the refusal of the Japanese to make yourselves accountable for your actions (and largely US collusion and assistance in this) is behind the explosion of this issue, which is not assisted by a Japanese academic tendency toward fabrication (like planting archaeological "finds" or faking "scientific" findings) and dearth of peer review.
To pander to your Whataboutism, it's true the Japanese government will not assassinate, sue or imprison as you allege your neighbors do, it doesn't need to, either. There are many intimidating thugs, individuals and organized, that will do that dirty work willingly without the government needing to get involved, and which are almost never subjected to disciplinary action. "Free" debate brings heavy consequences, particularly when the population is as heavily indoctrinated in Japanese exceptionalism as it is.
I'm not unsympathetic to Japanese arguments, but I feel Japan would gain greater support internationally by discarding its well-earned reputation for bullshit and dealing with people with sincerity. Of course, you can't do that on an individual basis, so I don't see this happening too soon.

the kobes incident is due to the carelessness of the field workers.

on the other hand, as for that korean one, the construction plan itself had a critical problem, needless to say.

you can see at a first glance, no props on the fell side. the two are totally different types of incident, apparently.
"dont worry nida! it will work out , even with no props! maybe!" and then this incident happened, i guess.

The bridge over the River Kwai was built by a Frenchman, too...in his imagination (after he was caught running away from a battlefield and then made up stories of braver fighters from the same side he was supposed to be fighting for).

Did that get pirated to youtube with distortion in the file so that a 2 hour 40 minute movie became over three hours long too? Did the filter make it unviewable?

I'm not surprised Matsuki doesn't know it. It only got 7 Academy Awards.

Yes you get points for seeking education.

The movie explains why 80 year old Brits won't buy a Honda, unless it has a Rover badge on it.

Matuski, knowing you're a Merkin and inherently gullible, I should point out that wagyl is not referring to the movie, but to the sneaky Nipponese attack on democracy-loving, freedom-fighting Allied forces (the first attack the Nipponese made against the Allies in WWII was on an Australian air base several hours before they hit Pearl Harbor, incidentally) and ruthless, inhumane and cannibalistic treatment they would hand out until they were pounded into submission and essentially subjugated ever since.

The movie is based on a tale written by a French collaborator and bears little resemblance to what really happened on the Burma Railway, whose victims were largely Australians. Like most tales of French gallantry, this story is a myth.
I suspect some of the British vitriol toward the Japanese regarding WWII came because the Nipponese whipped their arse on sea and land (except for Imphal, but that was mostly the Indians anyway), effectively starting the flames that would eventually burn down the British empyre, at least in Asia.

Not at all. About as many Dutch as Australians.

More than 180,000—possibly many more—Southeast Asian civilian labourers (Romusha) and 60,000 Allied prisoners of war (POWs) worked on the railway. Of these, estimates of Romusha deaths are little more than guesses, but probably about 90,000 died. 12,621 Allied POWs died during the construction. The dead POWs included 6,904 British personnel, 2,802 Australians, 2,782 Dutch, and 133 Americans.[2]
