Rouen explosion: at least 13 dead after blast and fire at bar in French city – reports

Emergency services pull survivors from Cuba Libre bar where private birthday party was being held

Might just be your typical gas explosion in an old building's basement though.

Either way, some cheap tabloid is sure to say The Party Was Rouen'ed.
It rather saddens me to see how much headline relevance the French have of late. I would prefer we just forgot about them, as we used to do.

BBC is reporting it was a polystyrene ceiling tiles set on fire by birthday cake candles. What kind of candles do they use for birthday cakes in France? Roman candles?
It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Anticandle-ites attack again. This could positively Rouen my plans for a European vacation. Surely not even the EU lets the surrender monkeys decide how they're going to fuck it up this time? Never mind Brexit, what about Frogvasion? If this keeps up we'll all be subject to Nice Terror Attacks on a daily basis.
How many more comically named French towns are there?

Super! What a wonderful place to suck on Gitanes and listen to CloClo and Johnny Halliday.
I bet you it must have been a popular spot....must be quite a rarity in France to find an empty ammo box.

More on that from the Ministry of Too Silly News Service

Rouen fire horror as 'killer birthday cake' starts fatal blaze that claims lives of 13 partygoers

And for those who prefer their news in subliterate:

I actually don't mind the competition, but I fear they're not even aware they're doing it, and that isn't just sad, it's depraved.
