Japanese woman slashes husband’s face over toilet stink

A Japanese woman allegedly attacked her husband with a kitchen knife because of the terrible smell he had left in the toilet, police and reports said Monday.
Emi Mamiya, 29, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after apparently slashing her husband’s face with the knife, police said.
Mamiya was reportedly incensed by the smell left behind after her 34-year-old partner emerged from the bathroom.

A patient’s fart during surgery apparently sparked a fire that caused serious burns to her body, a university hospital in Tokyo said.
The fire occurred at the Tokyo Medical University Hospital in Shinjuku Ward on April 15. The patient in her 30s was undergoing an operation that involved applying a laser to her cervix, the lower part of the uterus.
The laser is believed to have ignited the gas she passed. The blaze burned much of her body, including her waist and legs.

As much as I want to make a joke about J-girl jungle bush being her downfall, and it still may be a contributing factor...but the article first states nothing in the operational room was flammable...then turns around and says the surgical drape went up in flames. WTF?

No fart is enough to have "burned much of her body, including her waist and legs." Sounds like the surgical drape and her hospital gown caught and the panic that caused meant nobody tried to help while the patient burned. Seeing how the hospital went to the trouble to hire an "outside panel" to investigate, I'm pretty sure the victim is after them for negligence. Treatment for that many burns would probably exceed a couple million and drag on for awhile...
