Fuck me that was close, sudden vertical bump followed by minutes of lesser vibrations.

Wait, what's that? Sound of heavy machinery? Oh, some people wearing hard hats and towels are doing something unspeakable to an innocent plot of land one block over. Bastards.

I thought I was losing my mind how long that one kept going. More earthquakes in Fukushima....great PR for the Olympics! Maybe the Olympic accounting documents will be tossed into the reactor in part of the tradition of covering up losses.

Totally missed that one, probably because I was transporting the spawn on the mamachari at the time.

Either mamachari suspension is amazing or being on the 2nd floor of a wooden structure magnified the effect for me because I was tilting this way and that for a good minute.

Any structure will magnify the effect; I can't count the number of times I've been outside, come back into a building and had people ask me "did you feel that earthquake?".

I believe it, the condiment mansion was on the 3rd story and solid....made even small quakes feel like the next Fukushima.

Ah yes, the condiment mansion, I pass by there quite often, no more neighbourhood drama to be had now I guess.

Yeah, I thought a truck ran into the building by the feel of it.

It's all the same. Eventually there will be an eruption.

6+ Only Fukushima my ass.
Felt it here for a good 10 seconds. We usually feel nothing from these quakes.
The cuty from channel 10 was doing her best not to lose her shit but she was clearly out of her comfort zone...

It was 7.2 on the Modified Mercalli/Richter's Intensity scale. BIG SHIT.
Japan meteorology agency now says it was a 7.1 magnitude (the real scale not Japanese):

Yes they upgraded the number at ground 0 when better data came in as usual.
But also I was speaking of the intensity at the powerplant.
(Like when people were stating the plant stood strong after being hit by a 9 earthquake... but the number was for ground 0 not at the plant itself)

Felt it a little, but thought it was just a slight dizzy spell. The big one for us in Aichi is still cooking up pressure in order to become the mother of all earthquakes, once it boils over. Been wondering for over a decade now, whether I should fix my fence before or after that quake and just can't decide.

I do hope, you guys up in the area are all fine!

I was (unsurprisingly?) naked when it hit. About to jump in the shower, with three pups in panic-mode, I herded them into the bath area and waited it out. That felt stronger than 3.11 to me...though I was much closer and on a second story this time. Not fun but no damage here.
