Share Houses In Tokyo

Postby John Dillinger » Mon Oct 30, 2023 9:27 am

Hey everyone. So I'm thinking after I retire, of visting Tokyo for about two months at a time twice a year. So, I've heard sharehouses are pretty cheap accomodation, only costing about 300-400 dollars a month. What would I need document wise as a foreigner to stay at one, and is there any other information I'd need to have to do so?

It depends on the sharehouse. Generally your passport will be all they want since you're a tourist. Best thing is to contact the sharehouse(s) you're interested in and ask directly.

If you're coming to Japan that often, would highly recommend that you move about a bit. Stay in Tokyo, then next time in Kyoto, next time in Fukuoka, etc. Of course it depends on what you want to do but there is a lot more to Japan than just the 23 wards.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Maybe look for Workcation places which are also popping up around Japan. I'd think the passport would be enough for ID.
