Boy the online news sure does SUCK when it comes to promptly reporting this. The newsboys are still taking their afternoon naps as the BIG story of the week goes unreported in Japanese or English. Here is the English article about the lawsuit that has been brought against Koizumi for rape! Apparently he has admitted that the lawsuit has been brought against him. It is rather a strange case and he is being sued by a third party in the lawsuit.

Obviously rape is a serious issue, but it's too long ago to get the facts. Maybe because he was rich he was blackmailed, maybe the girls changed their story under some pressure or to make themselves look important. Or are there any women at all who have stepped forward? We can't really know, that's why there is a judicial system to establish facts and not act on accusations alone

This case is so far in the past, it's gonna be impossible to "prove" anything so we can project our own imaginations. It's interesting to see what each person focuses upon. Most of the English-language press isn't interested so it's our job to make things up. :P

Strange that Koizumi is reluctant to file an official complaint and sue over such serious allegations though, is it not?
That is probably the point of the court case filled against Koizumi in as much as, they are probably trying to get the records released as evidence, if indeed they exist.
And of course if it is true, they would like people to believe it is nothing more than slander, wouldn't they?

By the way, I would hardly go as far as to say "we are making it up" we are simply discussing what has been reported on the web and indeed the questions put to Koizumi in the diet and broadcast live via NHK.
