A new survey finds that one-third of Japanese nurses have been physically assaulted by patients in the past year.

Comment: From my many conversations in Japanese hospital, most nurses thought getting molested by patients was just part of the job. One very "robust" nurse told me patients copping a feel was, "about significant as dog stinking its nose in your crotch---just push 'em away and get on with work."

The Nursing community world wide has the same problem. No links but my Mother was recently physically assulted and is now retireing with loss of use of her right arm (not total but 75% loss) spinal damage and a fear response if you approach from her right rear side, all things that were not there before. Yes there is legal action happening, But the backlog of claims is 3 YEARS before the claim is in arbitration for first hearing (my appologies if the terminoligy is incorrect). I am also lead to believe the UK system is similar, again no link just my 2 cents. About every other month I read about a sexual or other assult on a nurse or other care worker some where, sad as this is.
