Japan will lose 20 percent of its population in the next 45 years
Thank God!

There are recent signs that Japan's economy may be on the upswing, though a Japanese government report last year suggested that stronger measures were necessary to encourage people to have more children

OK Say it with me: Over population is a bigger problem than not being able to care for the elderly. God Bless The Non Breeders. Not only are your children disgusting and annoying they also add to the destruction of the planet and they lower the quality of life for everyone by making Japan even more over populated.

WTF?!?! Don't you know it is perfectly fine to have the equivalent of half the U.S. population in a country the size of California?

Seriously though, the similarities between the U.K. and Japan continue to grow.

With a population decline, you can bet immigration laws are going to change if they want to continue the same level of economic activity.

As long as they ship in young females from eastern China I don't mind. But I don't want to see the country flooded with South Asians, South-East Asians, Muslims from anywhere, South Americans, Africans, eastern Europeans or whites or blacks from anywhere actually. I like the way the people look now.

If the working population decreases by 20%, the public welfare system could collapse. This happened in the United States a few years ago, where states declared themselves effectively bankrupt.

A booming population is not a completely bad predicament, but a decreasing population is most definitely not a good thing.

A stable population - the UK has stayed around 60m for at least 20 years - is more desirable.

Not unless you look at the whole picture. Good points: 1)Increased livability 2)More Space 3)Cheaper Rents/Bigger Apartments 4) Less Traffic a)less auto deaths b)less pollution c)less noise pollution b) less ugliess 5) Easier Commutes 6)Less Garbage 7)Less Energy consumption 8 ) Less Total Depletion of the Fish in the Sea 9) Less Ozone Depletion 10) Less Global Warming 11) Less War About Oil 12) Less Extinctions

Bad Points 1) Crumbling Welfare System 2)Humanity May Survive

I do think only importing women is a good solution. Less crime and trouble, that's for sure.

There's always too many men, and most of them are uneccessary.
For the survival of the species only one man and many women are needed.
When you have a situation of one women and many men, you don't get the huge population increase, and instead you get :bukkake:

Unfortunately China needs more women as well....

No matter how low the population drops Japan will be crowded since their NHK Implants require close proximity to connect to the Hive Mind.
Anyway, here are a bunch of interesting factoids...

World faces population explosion in poor countries
18 August 2004 07:17 / Mail-&-Guardian
The world is heading for wildly uneven population swings in the next 45 years, with many rich countries "downsizing" during a period in which almost all developing nations will grow at breakneck speed, according to a comprehensive report...
....Countries such as Nigeria and Japan, which today have similar sized populations of about 130-million people, could be unrecognisable by 2050, say the authors. By then, Nigeria is expected to have more than doubled its numbers to more than 300-million people. But Japan, which has only 14% of its current population under 15, may have shrunk to roughly 100-million people.
...Among the major industrialised nations, only the US will experience what the authors call "significant" growth. It is expected to have reached a population of 420-million by 2050, an increase of 43%. But Europe is expected to have 60-million fewer people than today and some countries could lose more than a third of their populations.
...[demographers] predict that at least an extra 1 000-million will be living in the world's poorest African countries by 2050. There will be an extra 120-million more Americans, and India will leapfrog China to become the world's most populous country. One in six people in western Europe will be over the age of 65 by 2050.
