Matsushita to hire locals in place of Japanese executives overseas
The Asahi Shimbun / Aug 19Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. is set to slash the number of Japanese employees it sends overseas, opening up more management positions for locally hired staff. By the end of fiscal 2006, about half of the 2,000 Japanese employees currently working at the group's manufacturing and sales units abroad will be brought home.
