I saw the second half of this game. It was a good one.. I found myself 'rooting' for Australia with passion. I guess I'm kind of a traditionalist; I don't think pros should be able to compete in the Olympics. Baseball, basketball, whatever.. Keep it pure.

Today is one of the most enjoyable days I have ever had in my way too many years living in Japan. ...
I am fast becoming the most hated man in my company --- and I am loving it!!!!

Now that the pathetic Japanese baseball PRO leaguers have been beaten, I hope to enjoy seeing the spoiled NBA pros lose to Lithuania.

Now it's all up to Canada to wipe the Japanese from the podium... Can it be done? You know what? Canada winning will not cause even a ripple in this country but Japan losing should cause quite a storm over there. Go Canada, Go! And btw, it should have been Cuba but a bad call and the team falling apart lets Cuba face Australia for the Gold and Silver.

I've just seen TBS footage of Sydney where big screen coverage of the game was being watched by....no-one. Reporters interviewing Australians found everyone clueless about the Australian baseball team, let alone the fact that had just won. Rubbing salt into the wound...

It's mentioned in the news at the end, after all the other Olympic stuff. And in a tone that shows they don't expect anyone to actually be listening. No Aussies in Oz know about this. If Australia beat Cuba it will make the Odd Spot. If they lose it will just be another forgotten silver medal. Baseball is such a fringe sport, you can't explain to the folks back home that they just broke Japan's heart.

I was soo tired of the Japanese media saying that they were definately going to win Gold.
Good to see the Pros get slammed by mostly fringe minor leaguers.

Almost as good as seeing Japan and Korea soccer teams go down in flames...
