Ok, ok, he only half gaijin...a son of a five-time Japanese Asian Games hammer champion and a Romanian javelin thrower. See the profile of Koji Murofushi

ATHENS ---
Koji Murofushi put his Sydney Olympics nightmare behind him Sunday by capturing the men's hammer throw silver medal at the Athens Games. Murofushi failed to live up to his billing as Asia's "Iron Man" when he finished ninth in the final four years ago...

You can be Half Japanese but you're either 0% or 100% gaijin.

BTW What is the fucking purpose of hammer throw? I mean with javelin, it originally had a miltary application and same too might be argued about shot put and discus, but to me, hammer throw sounds like another of those fictious sports the olympics are so great at inventing.

The hammer was useful to break an advancing phalanx of shields from a distance before a counter charge. The javelins could not pierce the first line of shields and the discus had the longer range than the hammer.

But he's got his hopes up for better...
ATHENS (Kyodo) International Olympic Committee Medical Commission Chairman Arne Ljungqvist denied Wednesday any irregularities regarding the doping tests on Hungarian hammer throw winner Adrian Annus, who edged out Japan's Koji Murofushi to win the gold on Sunday.

Commenting on suspicions that Annus may have broken doping rules, Ljungqvist said the test procedures after the final were completed properly and that there have been no reports suggesting that he tested positive for a banned substance.

Earlier Wednesday, sources close to the Japanese delegation said the Japanese Olympic Committee has asked the IOC to confirm that the tests on Annus took place properly after suspicions arose that he may have used a banned substance or violated doping rules.

On Tuesday, Hungarian discus winner Robert Fazekas, who shares the same coach as Annus, was stripped of his discus gold medal for failing to provide a proper urine sample after his event.

The sources said Murofushi, who by winning the silver became the first Japanese ever to win a medal in an Olympic throwing event, has delayed his return to Japan to monitor the situation and will stay in Athens until Sunday, the final day of the Games.

Annus needs to provide urine
Hungarian hammer gold medallist Adrian Annus has been told to provide a fresh urine sample on Friday or risk losing his Olympic gold medal.
He did not test positive at the Games and returned home, but this may have breached regulations.
"Annus will be the subject of out-of-competition testing," the IOC said.
Annus announced his retirement upon returning to Hungary and is quoted as saying: "My only sin is that I won the Olympic gold."
Hungarian Olympic Committee President Pal Schmitt said: "If Annus does not give a sample then it is a breach and so he can say goodbye to his gold."

I just saw on the news our gaijin soul brother has been promoted to gold! BTW, the judges in that sport must have their own steel balls. Has anyone ever been hit by one of those things?

Annus needs to provide urine

If it can do that, it deserves a gold medal.
