Osaka kidnappers give cops the slip at red light

As a police patrol car arrived at the scene, the officers saw two men bundle Nakao into his own car and drive off. According to the police, a third man was keeping lookout in a station wagon.

The officers chased the car and caught up with it when it stopped at a red light. They banged on the car windows and demanded that the kidnappers surrender, but the suspects refused to comply and drove off. The officers said they got a good look at the suspects' faces and would be able to identify them.

ah yes, the one driving was wearing all black and looked ah Japanese, the passenger was also wearing all black and looked Japanese...

why the hell didnt they actually do what ever it took to rescue the poor sod in the car..? like what, well take out the driver with a .38 hollow point, disable the car, u know...cop shit...?

When I was a border cop working the US-MEX divide, and a suspect refused to open the window, I'd bust it open with a steel baton and drag the MF out through the window.

Somehow, I doubt the Jp police would use such tactics. But somehow, in most cases, it seems to work for them. Hmm.

It really puts things in perspective... I wonder how many Ausralians have killed Japanese store owners in Japan...? I hope there are "local only" signs popping up in Jap faces on The Big Island... I know that as far as surfing itself is concerned the locals are getting tired of Japenese kooks getting drilled at pipeline....
