Thief-cum-crime prevention writer busted for stealing car
(Mainichi Shimbun, Japan, Sept. 16, 2004).NARA -- An elderly man arrested for driving a stolen car has turned out to be the famous author of crime prevention books... he began writing books sometime around 1993, and one of them was published in 2001 titled, "All about robberies."
...In the book, he pledged to wash his hands of his past because crime doesn't pay. Taoka reportedly made some 800,000 million yen in royalties from his books.
