Just got back from Japan...

Postby dragojin » Mon Sep 27, 2004 3:41 pm

...and I regret that I had to leave!! I had so much fun there and I had a huge learning experience. I met alot of really cool people with whom long friendships will mature, and a few girls who I intend to pursue. One of them totally capturing my heart. Knowing the language is a must and I plan to return as soon as possible. I mainly stayed in Tokyo, but travelled to Osaka and Kyoto during my visit. I found that people in the later cities were nicer. I was surprised to see so many gaijin roaming the streets in places like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku and the most obvious place to find them in of Roppongi. Also, whats the deal with all the nigerian hustlers manning each intersection trying to be your friend. LOL! Japan really needs to fix this problem. I took a good share of pictures and wouldn't mind posting them, some of there were truly original masterpieces. I have 2 years until I finish my degree and plan to obtain a working visa then to return to Japan indefinitely.

It was about 10 days, but I had a great time. I had a few friends that stayed for 5 weeks, but Monday I begin College again. I wanted to go to Japan for a while, but my trip was more or less last minute with only 1-2 weeks of planning beforehand. My stay will be longer in the future. Due to the fact I have no right to work in Japan prohibits my stay for a longer period. We don't have working holidays in the U.S.

I'm a very young fg(less than a year) but i have advices to give anyway.
Come again on holyday trip, those are the best. Just come over again, two weeks at the most, one or two time a year.
Treasure those moments as a tourist really. Learn the langage make tons of friends, and drink a lot.
It's been only a year and i grew very nostalgic of the times i went here as a tourist. I don't regret anything but maybe it would have been nice to have a few more tourist trips before "living the dream".
