When i was planning on coming to Japan i looked at so many different sites to try and find out as much as I could.

Now, i am sure we can all agree what a battle it can be so I wanted to give something back to the Gaijin community.

Check out the above site... Make your own journal, post in the forums, submit an article, add whatever want in the classified ads and comment as much as u like on those electronic devices you cant talk about here...

ah yes, I did forget to modify that and yeah had to use FG forums as a template cuz i really didnt wanna confuse anyone.. and i was trying to set up something in an hour time frame beetween classes....

Sorry, pls dont get upset...it was meant to change and reflect that there were not so many forum topics needed once the classfd Ad section, events engine and Topic list were built.

actually It only took a few hours to work on the back end of this and its not that I dont like or dont use FG, its just that I wanted to build something that can do a little more..have a little more community..eg calenders, classifiedAds, and actual written submissions, by people that are serious about writing and not just venting on a forum....and a journal section.... and yeah it is nothing compared to its-my-life.net which has been a personal blog up for over a year now....alot more work is in that, but lost gaijin is a has a good backend and will scale well.

again, this is a community site...not mine...use it as much as u like or dont... its all good, and yeah thanks for the reminder about the forums

Plus alot of credit goes into a name... cant always say "hey i saw it on fucked gaijin" when im at work...!!!!!

look, just for the record and to say it for the very last time I have gotton alot out of participating in fg and yd forums and have learnt heaps...the content is great, the people that make the site what it is - the members- have really built something unique, and what would be a shame is that while the information evolves, the way its delivered didnt.

I wish a new backend hadnt been needed but i just thought it was....

well i would like to thank Fg's web man for the comments... I had a spare 10 mins so added a new header and designed a new added the new theme... now if u want u can do a bakgrounderon it and tell us who this one is from...and would u actually waste your time trying to find out..? ah cant we all get along. im not taking anything awya from anyone..Im giving something back...whats with the third degree. Plzzzz....u cant compare or debate with me about design, back end infrastructure or scalability.. This is what I do....and for a fast impulse it doesnt look half bad..still needs a it of work but hey, its a little project and enjoyed doing it... I choose not to be an IT monkey anymore so as I can have a life, and have not tried to dis this site..just said that it wasnt really a community based system...if u wanna add more functionality then go for itt...would be awesome and im sure your members would get a lot out of it...

to the sites credit, its members have made something very special and unique and for that u can be very proud...

I predict it won't go anywhere. You need personalities to bring people to a site and keep them there. FG has those personalities. Why would we all suddenly flock to some other site that doesn't add much more to what FG has already? There already is a sense of community here despite the lack of a calendar and what not.

It's also incredibly lame to ask the mods and other top posters to just abandon a site that they've contributed thousands of posts to for the purpose of modding another copy site.

Things to know about Japan
3. Cars are right hand drive, roads are generally narrow but maintrained well.
7. Instant food, such as microwave pizza is really tasty and they even have the real "cup o noodles".
16. Learn Japanese. You will need it and will help make ur life so much easier. I have started already.
33. I have yet to see toilet paper on the desks or anywhere else except the bathroom.
36. The local bear Asahi doesnt give u nearly the hang over that "Hite" does
43. Tatami mats smell like hay.
44. You dont wear shoes on tatami mats, in a house or any any carpeted area.
46. Alot of Gaijin also speak Japanese.

Well, everything I have to say can be said on FG. Again, why would I want to post my stuff on your site, when you offer no incentive to go there? Plus, I (and probably the other mods) barely have enough time to mod FG, let alone some other copycat website.

Why not post the same stuff here that you did over at ESL Cafe?

There are a variety of forums in Japan, 2 of them are called "Young Dudes" and "fu*ked gaijin". What i did was create a site called "lost gaijin" as a thesis project that would allow everyone else in Japan to become part of an online community...everyone else that is that felt that they were not in the demographic of being a Young Dude, or f*cked Gaijin.... hence stuck in between...thus "lost".

Young Dudes focus alot of the time is about girls, how to pick em up, how to dump em, etc.... f*cked gaijin while having a big user base is only really used by a dozen people and advice they give to newbies in Japan are comments like "f*ck you"... not a bunch of positive people by any means. They had been in Japan way to long... or were just twisted from the start..

Exactly the kind of thing that gets gaijin a bad name in Japan.

The actual layout is not bad, though.
