Why oh why? Do all Japanese have the same HANDWRITING!?

Is it just me or does EVERY SINGLE Japanese person use those demented characters?

When I was working at our factory (<--Dam Japlish!) I could never tell who left a message as the handwriting was the same!

My handwriting is garbage so I shouldn't talk but...
Everybody at the software "factory" puts a stroke through zero and serifs on "F" .
However, why does EVERYBODY-n-ANYBODY in this country write the number "5" with a huge, dumbass, vertical tail going straight out the top? :?
