That is what I love about Japan. Forget that there are countless crimes, murder, rape, all of these "its me calls" but the handy dandy police are out patrolling for electricity thieves. I mean would most people even notice an extension cord. THis guy must have been pretty bored to follow it all the way to the guys house.

Such a bad gaijin might want to unscrew the wall outlets on the common walls of their aparto and see if the power line for the other apartment is also routed next to their outlet which is common in shity Japanese housing. Many "bad" gaijin have powered their lights and TV on the kindness of their Japanese neighbors' electricity or better yet the kindness of their landlords' hallway lighting, hee, hee. Although working on live wires is risky ---kids don't try this at home, blah, blah---- that fact is most professional electricans do it all the time.

The guy wasn't using an extension cord, it sounds like he was tapping directly into the utility pole. I hope he was an electrician, otherwise he needs to be in jail for his own protection. Dentistry and working with high voltage electric wires are not jobs amateurs should be messing with.
