Most of the broadcast is from live from New York/ Washington a moment ago. Now they switched in Tokyo with the same blond bimbos in the background.

Q: How do like working for the miltary here in Japan, Major?

Here's what the CNN American Morning webpage says:
Anti-terrorism tactics
Friday, December 10, 2004
We're live from Japan with a look at the country's anti-terrorism tactics. What lesson can Americans learn? Tune in starting at 7 a.m. ET.

I'm kind of interested in this as well. I have no idea what Japan's been up to about anti-terrorism.

I had to leave in the middle of that segment, but judging from what I saw, they've developed new, more efficient ways to haul away dead bodies, and that's about it.
Edit: I saw a rerun of the segment, I guess I saw almost all of it. But there was one additional thing they learned: how to have a paranoid freakout.

Ok, great. All I knew about was the putting of covers on the trash cans.

No. That's how you store industrial waste in Japan.

Cultural terrorism is what comes to mind.
Crap. That is gonna bring more gaijin...

I was watching that too. It was ridiculous. I would have just told them to leave or stand back because intrepid Weber white bread Moms are not what CNN wants to show about Japan.

As I was thinking that they put some Super Dweeb 'Dave in Japan' on the set and all he said was "uh Im from smart alec Canada. And you dont have any give aways."

what a fag. Shoulda interviewed sombody w/ perspective on Japan. Shoulda interviewed Skankster.

Well, they're setup in front of Roppongi Hills; All the ex-pat families stroll over from the Hill's residential area to wave hi to relatives back home..

Amerikkkans all over in those 'red' states are saying, "Go-olly! Them Chinese sure is white!".

Bill 'FG' Hemmer - can anyone explain why the man's expression remains fixed in the same inane, vacant, toothy half-smile whether he's reporting a massacre in Iraq or commenting on the hi-tech wash basins in his hotel room?

(BTW, did anyone see the excruciatingly cheesy video of his world travels?)

Also, what is the raison d'etre of the Cafferty File? It appears to contain no content.

HEMMER: Listen, I want to wish you the best of luck. I know the focus 20 years ago was...

GELDOF: You didn't sound very interested.

HEMMER: Not at all. Not at all. I've very interested. Listen, I'm very honored to talk with you today.

GELDOF: Thanks a lot, man.

HEMMER: I've been looking forward to this interview all week.

GELDOF: I can tell.

HEMMER: No, it is true. And I want to wish you lots of luck.

GELDOF: Thank you.

HEMMER: And I know the focus 20 years ago was Ethiopia; now it's Sudan. And, Jude Law, eat your heart out, OK?

GELDOF: What can I say?

HEMMER: Sir Bob Geldof...

GELDOF: Thank you.

HEMMER: You got it. Good luck -- Soledad.

Holy crap, I wish I'd seen that interview with Bob Geldof. Only Bill Hemmer could be disinterested in the only punk rocker ever nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
