Well japan doesnt do anything to dicourage the youth not to smoke do they.........has anyone noticed the strategic placement of many vending machines so to get the attention of as many young peoples as poosible!! :!:

On a better note NZ has just brought a law which makes it illegal to smoke in workplaces - which is basically all inside places.
It is sooooooo awesome :D to not wake up after a big night smelling like shit - i mean u feel shit enough the next day, without adding smoke stink to it!!!

Sure they do!! The cigarette vending machine lobby (or whatever they are called) voluntarily offered to shut off all machines at night (from 11pm I think? 10? 12?) to stop kids buying cigs.

You might try taking a shower when you get home... Helps with the hangover, removes the stink, and keeps your bed sheets a lot cleaner.

If I am sober enough to make it home I don't have problems in the shower.. If I don't make it home...then the shower isn't my main worry... ;)

That said, standing in a western bathtub is harder to do drunk than to stand (or sit on the small seat) in a Japanese "bath room" with open space to shower in.

Thank God for the internet where people can see what european and america health agentcies report about tobacco.

One lucky smoker stands to win five kg of gold bars worth eight million yen as part of the 'smart smoke' drive for reduced-odour cigarettes launched by Japan Tobacco...."We want more people to know about our reduced odour products," company spokesman ...more...

Japan Tobacco is desperately offering smokers gold bars and flat-screen TVs in their promotions now. Japan Tobacco's "D-spec" Less Smoke Smell(tm) cigarettes is a one response to the public's disgust for the unpleasant smell of smoke. However, it's a hard sell to the Japanese public especially women. Even Japan Tobacco's TV commerials start out saying, "I carry a 700C degree fire in my hand with people walking all around me...."

Here's the guy who would agree with you. Although I've never seen a Honda that smokes, :) just look at the smoking delight in CEO Honda's face.

Japan Tobacco doesn't rule out European M&As
MSN UK, 26 Aug, TOKYO (Reuters) ---- Japan Tobacco Inc. (JT) <2914.T> said on Friday it would not rule out three European tobacco rivals -- Gallaher <GLH.L> and Imperial Tobacco <IMT.L> and French-Spanish firm Altadis <ALT.MC> -- as potential candidates for future acquisitions or alliances.
Ensuring further growth in its overseas tobacco business is a crucial task for JT -- the world's third-biggest tobacco group and known for its Camel, Winston, Salem and Mild Seven brands -- as it must weather relentless shrinkage in the domestic tobacco market, where it has a 66 percent share.
In an interview with Reuters, JT president and CEO Katsuhiko Honda said the global tobacco industry has almost completed 80-90 percent of its realignment, leaving Europe as a remaining area for potential shake-ups....more....
