Yep - count me in. Pack a picnic lunch and camp out on his bed. I hear J-hospitals are a self-service deal.
I'd like to go too. Where can I meet up with everyone?

I'll PM everybody who's in, over the next 24 hours, and we'll figure out a plan to meet up on Saturday, if that's OK!

I think it's time to start collecting fun links for Taro to keep him entertained once he's back online. How about this to start: http://www.mybrokenleg.com :D

How did he manage to fall?

This might be insensitive and my apologies to all if it is, but I've never met Taro in the flesh so I don't know what the story is.

He's mentioned his crutches before, but I never really found out why he used crutches or if it was something temporary or something he always uses. And was the condition that required the crutches the reason he fell?

More entertainment for Taro

Postby omae mona » Wed Feb 16, 2005 2:14 am

If we can find a way to show Taro a video in his hospital room, I might have found something.

Film Review of "Kono Mado wa Kimi no Mono"
The boy is Taro, a classmate of hers, who lives next door. His activities are curtailed by a broken leg. Taro and Yoko gradually begin a tender, confused dance of approach and retreat. ... Director Furumaya skillfully plays with our voyeuristic desires. He stretches the sexual tension between Yoko and Taro as tight as the sundress across Yoko's virginal breasts.

wow, I see the American FG users like me are just waking up and hearing the bad news about Taro, while everyone in Japan has been fretting about it all night.

There's not much left to say except to repeat some good wishes for Taro's condition, hope it's not too bad, and hope he has a swift and easy recovery.

It's times like this I think back about memories of attending my buddhist temple, the priests would always end the meetings with a plea that everyone guard themselves against accidents. Their plea was so heartfelt and impassioned that it freaked me out a bit, I thought maybe it was a warning that we were all doomed somehow. And of course as buddhists we were taught that there is no such thing as an accident, it has to be our karma to have gotten into a position where an accident can happen. Well that's not a very satisfying explanation for random events, but perhaps they are right. It's winter, our energy is low and many people have been sick, our attention wavers for a moment and suddenly WHAM you're hurt.

So you guys in Tokyo take care of Taro, and I'll try to take care of you all by playing the role of my old priest. Would all of you please be really careful to avoid accidents? Be alert, don't let your attention wander even in the routine circumstances you encounter every day like your commute to work that you could do in your sleep. Watch your step, don't sleepwalk through your daily lives. Please.

Get Well Taro

Postby canman » Wed Feb 16, 2005 9:14 am

Knowing Japanese hospitals I hope they don't keep Taro for the next four months. They have a nasty habit of keeping people forever. Who will fill Taro's posting void. My vote goes to Mulboyne. Both he and Taro seem to find the most interesting topics for the board. But of course nobody can replace Taro, only fill in.

Get well soon

Postby kurohinge1 » Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:06 pm

Taro-san,

Given the rumour that you type continuous posts with both hands and feet 24/7, I guess one foot out of action will only reduce posting speed by 25%

Seriously, get well soon. And please get access to FG sooner.

Just remember to ask for the sponge baths with a happy ending

It sounds like a blessing, but imagine your mind constantly reminding you of all the bad things you have ever done in your life... it's gets pretty annoying sometimes. :shakeh:

actually, i'm also looking forward to seeing you
